Kyle Defoor just posted about using this stuff for his guns:

https://edcclp.com/

That guy knows his stuff, so I'm curious if any of you have tried this product. I thought I'd seen them all, but this was a new one to me. Anyone here tried this yet?

Latest flavor of the month with a paid endorser? Yawn.

Remember fireclean and frog lube? Garbage...

I've never heard of it, but then there's a new 'best' something coming out all the time.

But 2oz for $15, plus shipping plus the online tax is close to cost prohibitive (to me). There's plenty of good lubes that have been around for a long time.

True. It is spendy, but I'm always looking for something better.

The question is if it's a better lubricant than my current mixture of 20w50 Lucas Synthetic mixed with Tungsten Disulfide.

Ha, that reminds me I've got some frog lube under the workbench collecting dust somewhere. Ecchh! A lubricant that doubles as a condiment.

Break free CLP and TW25B for me.

SLIP2000 products and Brian Enos Slide glide still works great. I have some TW25B laying around as well which used to come with SIGs that I haven't used yet.

I'm surprised that people burn through tons of lube per year. I'm still on two 4 oz EWL / EWL 30 weight tubes and a 2 oz tub of Enos from several years ago.

A little goes a long long way. I missed a lot of 'flavor of the month lubes' because I have no need for lube when the come out and unless they apply themselves, they aren't going to be appreciably better that what I'm using.

CLP: solvents are NOT lubricants.

cleaner lubricant protectant

The idea of having all three in one chemical compound is a nice idea.

It's also a bad idea. There are a lot better choices on every count.

Go back and read this blog:

Then go buy 15oz Lubriplate grease for $15 at midway. Grab some 350AW and you are set for life.

Still more than pleased with TW25B grease and oil. I did buy a tube of Lucas gun grease a year ago to have on hand when my TW25b grease runs out.

Yes generally speaking CLP's do three jobs. Three jobs poorly. Big Grin

I don't push anyone to it.. but I use lots of Frog Lube. Mostly on my USPSA pistols, my BPCR's and muzzle loaders.

I can understand the money and science in Formula 1 cars’ oil.

I don’t really understand that same amount of concern for gun oil.

I’ve never had a gun fail me due to a lube issue. As long as I’ve kept them reasonably clean and oiled every now and again. Maybe if I was an infantryman or special operations guy in a desert I’d see it differently.

But I’m not.

Knowing what one is talking about is widely admired but not strictly required here.

Although sometimes distracting, there is often a certain entertainment value to this easy standard.

Never heard of it until I got a Seecamp. It's the only CLP product they use. EEZOX.

You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.
