Anyone with experience with one?
I was very cynical about it when released -- likely new junk plagiarizing a great name. (And at least one bad initial review.)
But I just handled and dry fired a friend's. Wow. Wonderful DA and SA triggers. Seemed probably as good a DA as the Kimber K-6? My friend ordered and dressed it with the grey stocks -- looked great too.
Hefty at 24 oz, but that weight and trigger I could imagine might make it a competitor to an S&W M10 for a first time gun buyer.
I was really pleasantly surprised.
Any feedback?

The two I handled both had the fit and finish of a Charter Arms. Sharp edges and burrs on the frame and cylinder catch that could actually cut you. The finish was...rough. Triggers felt OK in single action and were light in DA, but felt oddly mushy. I wanted to like this gun. I did not. Granted my sample size was small.

I’ve handled both the new Colt Night Cobra (DAO) and the K6S. The K6S has a better trigger. Nice G-10 grips and tritium front sight that come standard on the Colt NC, probably the reason it’s $175 more than the standard Cobra. The K6S is a magnum and handles it well Wink

We've had several new production Cobras through the shop by now and haven't encountered any with milling or rough finish issues. Cheap-looking media blasting of the exposed steel surfaces that would look right at home on a Taurus 66 or a Charter Arms Bulldog? You betcha. Certainly would expect something more refined given the Colt's asking price. But no machining concerns, at least to date.

And yes they do seem to have VERY nice triggers right out of the box. Colt at least got that key part right. Puts the SP101 to shame and embarrasses the snot out of your typical current production J-frame. Only comparable that's as good if not better is the Kimber K6S.

The ones I have seen have rough finishes, actually worse than Taurus or Charter. The Cobra is nowhere near the same quality of the K6s. I am saddened that Colt put out such crap.

Every last one that I have handled, the barrel has a gap between the ejector shroud and the frame.

A glaring gap. An ugly, glaring, shoddy workmanship, lazy assed trash ugly gap.

MOST of them has terrible fitting of the side plate. Enough grime can get down in.

Taurus has better side plate fitting.

The fit and machining on my Cobra is outstanding. The finish is utilitarian grade.

The trigger is absolutely wonderful.

Only downside are the Hougue grips, which I despise. I consider the VZ grips mandatory, which get you that much closer to the price of the Kimber.

I like mine.

Overall, the Kimber may be the better choice, although I see utility in a gun this size having a hammer for SA firing.

I would recommend the Cobra if it suits someone's purpose or fancy.

ETA...one more downside...the promised interchangeable sites are still not available. I dislike red fiber optic and want the promised gold bead.

Thanks for all the replies. My original thoughts about it were on the lines of the first several replies. My impression seeing this was more like ClayFlingy. Trigger outstanding. Finish was matte, seemingly rough by intention, looked nice. There were no burrs or machining issues. I would have to re-examine to see if any gaps like marsattack described.
The Kimber I'm sure is nicer, though I have put off a purchase waiting on an exposed hammer.
The Cobra trigger was so nice it made me look up Pinnacle's address to get needed work on its trigger.
I hope thos works out for Colt.

Up front - I don't own one and can't afford one - but I have handled two at my fav LGS. I am OCD-type persnickety about finish and I did not see any finish issues with either revolver ... zero, nada. I wasn't invited to play around with trying DA-trigger or any such - but I did check both for yolk/crane flex (away from the frame) - and both were very tight. Both had tight B/C gaps. I guess other folks have found problems with Colt's workmanship - but not me.

I looked at the Colt again on Sat and it was not bad , but the Kimber is a step above big time , I have a K6 . I never thought Kimber could pull off a wheel gun but they had the right guy on board for the K6 ,a lot of there 1911 guns needed sent back over the years .

Finally got to hold one on Saturday and the finish is horrible. Taurus revolvers have a much better finish and trigger than the Colt Cobra, add in a price of $650 plus tax and it not worth it.

I echo what GeoJelly said, I have two Kimber K6S's and they are superb, my Colt Cobra is not finished as well, but is an excellent gun,it's tight and has a smooth trigger, handles well feels great in hand, and is accurate, I have nothing bad to say about the Cobra, for a 38 that handles 38 +P and 6 shots it's a dandy little gun.

For those who didn't like the new Cobra's utilitarian finish, they've polished it up.

Interesting. I have never seen the 2017 Cobra anywhere in the flesh, I have never seen the 2018 night Cobra anywhere in the flesh, and I probably will never see this bright Cobra anywhere in the flesh.

But it looks neat.

Um...that's one expensive turd. I know Colt is hard up for cash, but did they have to make it so obvious?

So for twice the price they’ll do it right? Mighty decent of them.

If only Ruger could redesign the SP101 w/ a six round cylinder? Kimber K6S is actually smaller than my SP101 with a Six round cylinder not much bigger than the one on my SP101. C’mon Ruger, get back on the wheel gun wagon!
