I've been using Stealthgear holsters for years. Long story short, I'm done with them and the one I just ordered is going back. They stopped making real gear, it's total cheeseball now.

I'm not going to give another single layer leather backed hybrid a try after my experience with wearing out two Comptacs in about a year. I'm not going to carry appendix, we can just skip that debate and you can just be happy knowing you're right and I'm wrong. I'm also not going to buy another "it's just a big chunk of kydex wrapped around your gun and it sure as hell looks like you're carrying a gun, but it's an Operator Alpha Spartan Ulfhednar Spector Concealment Systems Tier 1 Mk 0 Tactical Tuckable Elite Praetorian Wraith 2.0 that I saw my favorite Instagram clout-chasing beardbrovet using at the last few classes of his I took so I totally bought it and if you're not using one, you're a boomer and it's your funeral" holster. I'm not going to carry OWB, at least not as a standard menu item. Kinda want to try a shoulder holster, but it's hot as shit here and I am all about wearing as few layers as the law and my self esteem will allow, so a cover garment all year-round is also not going to be a standard menu item.

Those things out of the way, what do you guys like for IWB? I did a quick search for hybrid holsters to see what's available and found Black Arch. Their Protos M looks like what the Stealthgear Onyx/Ventcore should have become, but they don't have a provision for a light. Bummer. Most of the other hybrid options don't look like a great choice for various reasons. There's more and better options if I widen the qualifications to not having a WML attached, but I think I want to have that from now on.

I hate playing the holster game. I thought I had this stuff figured out back in 2015, but nothing lasts forever I guess. I guess this is also where someone tells me to just get a VM2, and for the life of me, I don't think I've got a great argument against doing it.

I like Vedder light tucks. Good quality, easy on/off, good hardware, ride height and cant adjustable and fairly priced.

I have other holsters I use but I genuinely like my Vedder’s.

Ohhh and the VM2 rocks!!! Wink. If you are open to leather I’ve had good experiences with MTR custom, although with OWB stuff

I'm a big fan of Crossbreed Supertucks. They form to me quickly & I find them extremely comfortable. They also last forever (so far after many years of use).

Feel your pain...literally.
Always carried 4oclock. Milt Sparks were the most comfortable(summer Special) but he tripled the prices and the wait time.
Like kydex for the durability. Started appendix. Black Arch are well made. Usually add a foam piece to most for comfort.
Then my appendix started to enlarge! Tried going back to 4oclock but now drawing hurts my shoulder.
My holster box is getting bigger

Vedder here as well. Myself, my wife, dad & both in laws have them. P320, LC9, P239, Shield & Hellcat, respectively, IIRC on the last 2.

Switched to them after OHC disappeared.

I used the Crossbreed Supertuck for many years, still a good holster. But in my opinion the Vedder Protuck kydex IWB model works for me much better.
It’s basically the same design idea, but the Vedder just seems more compact and comfortable.
The rear has the sweat guard which covers the rear sight and protects your skin from the edges which was important for me.
I’ve got models for the Hellcat, G27, and G19.

You might check out Garrett Industries. They make leather lined kydex holsters, and have an excellent reputation. There are lots of mounting configurations for their 'Silent Thunder' and their customer service is excellent!

TT Gun Leather offers super high quality yet reasonably priced leather IWB holsters, and can accommodate some models of WML.

Ultra quick turnaround for custom leather holsters too, currently running just 3-4 weeks.

Gun/light options here: https://www.ttgunleather.com/gun-availability-list

IWB models here: https://www.ttgunleather.com/shop-iwb-holsters

I like the Slim.

Thanks for the replies. I'm looking and considering.

I guess I need to just break down and get a TLR-7. Most of the options for light bearing holsters are for that and not the TLR-1.

For concealed carry guns, I prefer the TLR-7A over the TLR-1 and -1HL lights that I used for over a decade. The 7A is lighter and more compact, and has even better and crisper activation switches compared to the -1's rocker. You give up a little in light output/throw from the TLR-1HL, but it's still plenty for non-duty defensive use. I even used the 7A on duty for the last few years, though that was primarily an administrative position.

Just be sure to go with the TLR-7A, not the original TLR-7 (which I think has been discontinued anyway). The old 7's buttons were awkward to activate, and not nearly as good as the 7A, which has improved switches that function similarly to the -1 you're already used to. The rear switches are the only difference between the 7 and 7A, so any TLR-7 holster will also fit the 7A.

The 7A comes with High or Low switches, which you can swap to fit your particular hand/finger dimensions. My preference is for the High.

This. I should be receiving my 4th holster from him in the next week or two.

After years of searching for the right IWB holster for ME, I have settled on High Noon Holsters. Specifically, their Upper Cut and Upper Limit models.

Thanks, I'll check with DaBigBR. I seem to remember him being a dealer.

Still looking over the suggestions, thanks guys. I also checked the mag carrier I got from Stealthgear and discovered that the screw ends protrude through the clips by scratching the ever-living fuck out of my bison belt when I tested it out just now, so that chunk of shit is going back as well, and now I'm going to need to also figure out a double mag carrier. Mad

For an all leather holster, I highly recommend https://www.wrightleatherworks.com/
Very high quality. I have had them make quite a few for me.
Like the others, my holster box is overflowing with ones I've tried but now I've settled on two or three companies.

For IWB, my go-to for years has been PJHolster Inside Waistband and Appendix Carry Custom Kydex Holsters with or without Laser.

Thin, light, excellent retention, economical, and quick turn-around.

Had one for my Walther PPQ M2. The integral belt clip failed after a couple years. He replaced the holster under warranty, no questions asked. (I think I had to send the failed one back on my dime, which I did not mind at all.)

Have one for my two compact 1911s - Colt Defender and Springfield EMP.

Have one with the UtilClip for belt-less carry for my Ruger LCP.
