I too would recommend holsters by Ryan Grizzle. I have 3 of his holsters. 2 IWB and 1 OWB. He is prepared to modify his designs to meet your needs. It is not on his site, but he made me a paddle version of his SSR holster. This version enables almost infinite cant over belt loop holsters.

I dont carry IWB much as I find them uncomfortable. That said, my best ones use an "offset" clip that reduces the bulk of the holster and seems to conceal better for me. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

My new favorite holster has become the TAGUA SIDECAR IWB. Inexpensive and comfortable. https://www.taguagunleather.com/product/sidecar-dch/ Jeeps...guns...German Shepherds!

I have a couple their OWB's, my most recent is a Silent Thunder IWB "Gaurdian". I wanted to try something I could use AIWB and behind the hip. I really like appendix carry... if I'm standing up walking around, I can conceal in just a t-shirt. And just as long as I don't ever have to sit down or bend over... lmao. Happy with it so far, but not too many hours on it yet. That should change soon. _____________________________________________________ Sliced bread, the greatest thing since the 1911.

Sorry to hear about Stealthgear's failure to handle your needs. My own recent experience with one of their newer hybrids so far has been somewhat better. After my hybrid SG Revolution finally gave up the ghost (cracked Kydex shell) I've been alternating between their Ventcore 2.0 and Alien Gear's ShapeShift over the past several months, the first two synthetic shield hybrids I came across. Leather as a shield material just doesn't work for me, particularly during hot months. Too much wicking of my toxic sweat...not good for carbon steel, especially the bits that no longer have the benefit of Tenifer pretreatment (like my Gen4 G23 EDC). So far I've come to like both though I still prefer the nuances of the Revo during its better, pre-broken days. I'm not feeling any real chintzy-ness with the newer SG design, but I'm also not trying to expand the carry scope by accommodating a WML or an optic. For me it's just about the G23 itself. Also for me the Vent has been comfortable to wear, seems to handle sweat pretty well, stays in place in a 4:30 position, and I can draw from it without hiccup. Only downsides are that it's harder to re-holster to than the Revo was, and the retention doesn't seem nearly as positive as it was with the old SG before it bit the dust. Between the Vent and the Shapeshift, I think I prefer the SG. It's more comfortable to wear, has a slightly smaller footprint and I can actually use it with my alternative carry option Shield Plus and the Canik Mete MC9 that I've been shooting and evaluating as a possible carry option whenever the G23 proves itself to be too big to conceal. As to how well it'll hold up, I think I'd be satisfied if it lasts as long as the Revo did (about 7 years of daily use). I guess I will see... -MG

I guess I'll go ahead and explain what happened with Stealthgear. I still have the original Onyx I bought from them back in 2015. The only thing wrong with it is the long wing section that rides around further in the back started to fray because honestly, it's not a great design for me. The kydex shell is thick, and formed substantially with no sharp bends. I retired it for a Ventcore Mini two years ago, and the shell on that one cracked by the trigger guard in under a month. I contacted them, they replaced it, and at my request redesigned their little cutouts around that area that seem to have contributed to the failure. That shell also failed in the same area about a year later. To my dismay, the shell on the one I just received not only seems to have the same high-stress 90 degree bends and scallops around the screws, but is made of a noticeably thinner kydex. To boot, when inserted, the gun has slop and wiggle in the holster. It's not confidence inspiring, and I'm not going to go through this with their stuff again. When I last ordered from them, I ordered a custom holster for my G42. The wrong thing was delivered not once, not twice, but three different times. One of those attempts was a complete inverse of the custom color options I selected, which is either utter carelessness on the part of everyone involved from the guy who made it to the guy who shipped it or sheer and utter stupidity. I finally just told them to send whatever and refund me the difference. They managed to get it right on the fourth try. Monoblok, I can appreciate that you had a great experience with the Revolution. That's in the timeframe of my first Onyx and other than being nearly worn out and smelly, it didn't fail. But given my experience with their stuff since, I'll be astonished if you get 18 months out of your new Ventcore. ______________________________________________ “There are plenty of good reasons for fighting, but no good reason ever to hate without reservation, to imagine that God Almighty Himself hates with you, too.”

I’ve been very happy with all the Sinply Rugged products I’ve bought, I have 5 or 6 different of his holsters, I also have a couple Sparks, a Grizzle and probably my favorite for 1911 carry is from Paul at Warbird leather. They all have their places for different situations but my Simply Ruggeds get the most carry, they can be ordered with straps for IWB carry but I am mostly an OWB carry person with the exception of a Sparks Summer Special.
