Hello, I have a friend of a friend offering to sell me his Les Baer SRP for $1600. He said it has 1500 rds down the tube and a small idiot scratch. I was not in the market for a 1911 and already have a Dan Wesson PM7 that I love. But I have been thinking of getting into the semi custom 1911 world in the future. What think you Sig Forum, will this be any better than my DW,is it a good price? ************************* Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and good with ketchup.

Probably not a significant improvement over your DAN WESSON. Is it something you need or something you want? Consider your bank account balance in your deliberations.

At that price, you shouldn't be hurt if you decide to sell it in the future. Since he is a friend, why not ask to shoot it first and decide...although that sometimes is the kiss of death.

My other Sig is a Steyr. ![]() |
Thinking this would be a good one to have in Cali and is on their 'approved' list. I'd go for it.

That is a fair price and it will hold it's value at that point. I have a few LBs, and they all took near that many rounds to break-in completely. The are very tight guns when new (from my experience) and I wouldn't be concerned at all about 1,500 rounds through it. In fact, thank him. I shoot better with my LBs than I do with my P7, but that might be only because I like the sights better. *Sigs, HKs, S&W PerfCntr, Caspian, Dan Wessons, Clark, Wilson Combat, Kahrs, CZ SP01 Shadow, Desert Eagle, Les Baers, Ed Brown, Pythons* NRA Benefactor Member U.S.M.C.

I'd buy it at that price. "I vowed to myself to fight against evil more completely and more wholeheartedly than I ever did before. . . . That’s the only way to pay back part of that vast debt, to live up to and try to fulfill that tremendous obligation." If it originally came with the 1 1/2" @ 50 yard group guarantee, I'd probably have to have it, if it's the standard, 3" gun, I'd probably let it go. Either way, it's not a bad price.

Worth $1600 yes, I'd think hardly about it if it had the 1.5" guarantee. If not, I'd probably spend a little bit more and go to an Ed Brown.
