Looks to be Kimber's entrance in the DWX Compact/EDC X9-style "compact double stack metal-framed modernized 1911-ish carry gun" market.

And it's about half the price of its competitors.

But with Kimber's track record, I certainly wouldn't want to be an early adopter.


My sentiment too, my exact thought was, “I’m not brave enough for Kimber”

No, that would the KDS9c, which is pretty much a Wilson Combat EDC X9 clone. The CDS9 is a micro 9 and much smaller than those compacts.
