High Standard Victor, my grail 22!
Simply gorgeous, a real legacy heirloom gun. I remember back in the '70's how High Standard guns were often the best kept secret of NRA competitors in my area. Congratulations on finding this grail gun, especially one in such superb condition!

Congratulations.
I always thought these had a leg up over the S&W41.

It was sitting next to a 41. I fondled it just once.
The 41's trigger is too far forward for me.
Especially with competition grips.

The HS fits me perfectly.

I've gotten a lot of good Info here now!

I’d consider driving down to GA for the next forum shoot. Just for this pistol.

Great looking Victor...I haven't kept up on them...expensive? Mags available? That one you've got there looks like almost new...congrats on your find.

Back in the late 70's, I shot in an NRA Bullseye .22 cal. league in Connecticut...at first I shot a friend's HS Citation but then bought a Victor out at the Lyman Blue Trail Range gun shop. It was superbly accurate with Remington Target ammunition and I really liked the trigger. But I somehow convinced myself that a Smith M-41 would improve my scores and I traded the Victor off.....A mistake as I soon learned that the grip angle made zero difference and the guns were equally accurate.

I'll add that we shot a couple of times a season over at the Colt factory range in Hartford, on that execrable basement range of theirs with its bare bulb lighting and non-existent ventilation. I was surprised to see that their "A" team all shot High Standards! Big surprise there, as then, the Woodsmen target models had great reputations dating back decades.

Great find! I have one as well and it is a joy to shoot. If you run into issues with function ... it is almost always the mags. Keep it clean and keep it wet! Beautiful gun!
