Glock mags are polymer coated steel which makes them durable as all hell but thicker then a comparable all steel mag.

Shield Arms designed an all steel mag to work in the 43x/48 mag well. Being all steel there is more room to make it thicker and therefore stuff more ammo in there.

That’s the cliff notes anyway.

I posted early in this thread about the G48 with the Zaffiri slide and barrel. I really did not like it-yeah it shot fine, just didn't like it when I shot it, so I traded it off.

I have another 48 (not MOS) coming into my LGS today. It is the Constitutional Carry one that Glock's own Cera-coaters (or so the claim is) coat with a flag and red, white and blue motif. Comes with a holster with the same design.

Already bought the night sights and hope to get it to the range Friday.

UPS changed the arrival date of my new gun to tomorrow. Not the end of the world, I guess, but I notice a couple of things in my first (and probably last) purchase from Palmetto State Armory:

1. No communication-none, nada and nuttin'.

2. Never told me when (or if) it was gonna ship.

3. Their web site is pretty awful, IMO, in that their search field takes up nearly half of my 19" MAC Desktop Screen, then you have to drop down and go under whatever is behind the search part, then go back up to see anything you wanted to see. Hard to explain and a pain in the rear to use.

I finally found the tracking number (Nope, they never sent it) and learned that the gun was shipped.

Oh, well. It'll come sometime tomorrow and I'm sure I'll be happy then-not now, though.

EDIT: Ooooops, one of the guy at the LGS is not there till Saturday to log in guns as his wife had to have surgery, apparently unexpectedly, today.

Oh, well I can get the gun sometime Saturday as it is at the LGS, just waiting to be processed for me.
