I’ll probably start with a 10-8 Performance connector.

I did the $0.25 trigger job to my 43x. Wasn’t much of a change. I later put in a Ghost Edge connector just to try it, typically not a fan. However, it really made a difference smoothing out the wall. It’s not mushy, and the wall is still there, but breaks much easier. Makes a huge difference to me on a small gun. It was definitely worth the $20 and 5 minutes it took to put in. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not 1911 now, but much better.

Anyone have a recommendation for a 43x/48 connector?[/QUOTE]

I installed the 10-8 Performance connector in my 48 a week ago finally, and I really like it. I’ll be getting more for my other Glocks.

I have an overwatch precision connector (their version of the minus and NP3'd) and like it so far. Not a ton of rounds through it though.

For those who opted for the Glock 48 M.O.S. version, can you tell me what factors influenced your decision to opt for the M.O.S.?

The Glock 48 seems like a great all-around concealed carry pistol.

For one, the G48 MOS frame has a rail where the regular G48 does not.

Not specific to the 48/43x but I have/will buy optics ready slides (MOS) now just to give me the easy option of optics mounting down the road even when I don’t want to use it now.

Unless you absolutely hate the plate or don’t want to spend the 100 bucks I don’t see a downside to the future proofing. We’ve all been in a head space where we will absolutely not be doing something but change our mind later.

That’s my take on MOS vs not.

I wanted the rail for a light and the option to add a dot without having to send it out.

I wanted a slimmer version of my 19 so the MOS was the way to go to get the rail and optic cut. The holosun EPS I threw on it comes with a tiny adapter plate so I didn't have to Dremel. Very happy with it so far after the connector upgrade (it wasn't terrible before, just better now).

My LGS had a Glock 48 that someone had put a bit of $ into-added a Zaffiri slide, barrel and comp, cleaned up the internals and it sorta spoke to me, though I have a 43X.

The feel of this Glock with a Shield mag and Holosun atop the slide is excellent. I even picked up a horsehide and Kydex Crossbreed holster and it carries wonderfully, though I haven't carried it as my EDC since I have been dealing with some minor medical issues and haven't made it to the range yet.

I hope to get there sometime this weekend and try it out, but if it shoots like it looks and carries, it will probably be my EDC over the 43 and 43X, and even my 42, which I truly love.

We'll just have to see.

Even if it doesn't work out, I love my 43 and 43X and have no-zero-regrets about selling my P365s.

So is the 43 and 48 just a single stack 9 akin to the 26 and 17

The G48 MOS is now my primary carry gun. I've shot a few matches with it, IDPA and defensive handgun type stuff, and I shoot it well. I probably won't put a dot on it, but I will get a light for it.

As part of my testing, I also shot plenty of Federal HST 147gr ammo in the matches. A little more ooomph than my reloads which use a 147gr Berrys bullet but similar enough. I like the heavy bullets compared to the 124gr Gold Dot load or my 124gr reloads in this gun.

Carried in a JM Kydex IWB holster, it hides better for me and is more comfortable than the G19. The slightly thinner profile and a little less ammo helps, plus the spare mag is easier to carry for the same reason. The single stack frame also makes it easier to get a good press of the mag release.

It's good gun and Glock reliable. It won't replace my G19 for everything but the 48 is a good fit for me.

Bought a 48 cause I couldn’t find a 43X in stock.

It has turned out to be ridiculously good as an every day carry gun, and on duty back up.

Yeah, the shorter 43X would be “better” for a back up. And yeah, I would really, really like a 43X MOS so I could throw an optic on to match my duty gun.

But still, it’s funny, I shoot my plain ol 48 better than any Glock I have. And with the Shield Magazines, it gives me Glock 19 capacity in a nice easy to carry form factor.

I like it. Way more than I can justify from a “technical” standpoint.

Thank you. The combo of concealment and hi-cap. of the 19 has always been a huge plus.

Sounds like the 48 might be a bit easier to carry. So there are trade off's between the two. Both great units in and of themselves. And of course the original (17) is full of awesomeness all its own.

The 43x and the 48 are both sold as 10 rnd guns, you can change that by buying Shield brand mags & catch. the metal mags and a metal mag catch make them 15 rnds v 10

wouldn't a 15 rd defeat the purpose in terms of it being more concealable vs a G19?

The Shield Arms mags are the same size as the factory - they hold 15 vs 10.

Weird Glock would not make them if there is room in the mag well? Weight maybe? Strange.
