I struggle with this issue. I've had two P320s and they were excellent. A few mos ago one came through the shop, I think an AIM Surplus police turn-in for $299, and it was a lotta gun for the money, in like new condition. That got me thinking about getting another. But I like my other carry guns - P365XL and HK CC9 - more, so no real reason. SIG's PR work on this has been horrendous. I hope they can turn it around.

It seems the entire weight of the internet (including a significant portion of the 'firearms community' ) were incited into a frenzy by an ever growing group of attention seeking self-appointed 'experts' on YouTube, seemingly holding SIG's head under water demanding they admit there's a problem with the P320/M17/M18, that NOBODY had been able to identify! I'd bet those in Engineering & Development at SIG had been directed to go over this a thousand times, and they kept coming back with the same results. I'd bet at one point they were directed to dedicate ALL of their resources to looking at this in light of the focus on this issue. When/if they came back with the same answer, they were told go look at it again and don't stop looking until you find something!

And yet, NOBODY has been able to identify exactly what is happening to holstered P320 Pistols, except that it seems the trigger needs to pulled in order to get the P320 to discharge.

Not supprised at Sig prevaling in the lawsuit. I commented early on how this affair reminded me of the great MSG scare of the 70s. For those not around then search the phrase "Dr. Robert Ho Man Kwok & the MSG scare"

Yeah, I can only fault SIG a limited amount for their various responses to the situation. For example, when they fixed the drop-safety issue, they did it by carefully adjusting the mass of the relevant internal components, to reduce their inertial motion during a drop. Adding a Glock-style tab to the trigger shoe instead would have been a much easier and more certain fix, but it also would have essentially been tantamount to admitting that it should have been there in the first place; this would only give SIG suers (pun intended) a lot more ammo (no pun intended) during court proceedings. I imagine SIG's lawyers said as much during that time.

RogueJSK makes a great point. Problem or not, the P320's reputation is in all likelihood permanently screwed at this point.
