You are 100% correct. Apologies for the oversight. Changes things up quite a bit. The optic is a Holosun 508t. I am finding as I get older and my eyesight continues to degrade an optic makes life a lot easier.

JM Custom Kydex made a good IWB holster for me for the SAO and with Optic Clearance. Haven't picked up the slide yet to test though, hopefully soon. I reached out to them directly and they modify the 229 holster to accommodate it, just have to leave a note when ordering. I have an OWB holster I ordered from some other company that escapes me right now. There was another post on here somewhere that someone asked the same question and I put it there. I'll try to respond back later when it comes to me.
The problem is with the SAO slide safety. I have a 226 holster and I can get it to work in a fashion but rather make it "fit".

They makee excellent holsters. I would take them. Conserve Liberty, and the right of self-determination.

In SC as well. Just bought a 229 Legion myself, SA/DA. I like all the above mentioned guys. Grizzle is awesome, Sparks is a hell of a wait. Try Garrett in TX. Kydex, but lined with leather. Easy on the gun finish, quiet and barely thicker than plain kydex. Reasonable and ready in a few weeks. Never owned a gun he couldn't fit.

J.M. Custom Kydex makes optic cut holsters for both the 9mm and the 40 cal. P229's. I have several inside and outside the waist band models.
