Just a FYI thing. I am not sure this information has already been posted but you can call Sig's customer service Phone: (603) 772-2302 (press #3 for Customer Service) and ask them to check against your serial for free. Their database can verify most all of the guns manufactured 2005 to present.

This was the last of the German 228s w rail made for govt. contract in '09..some had M-11 etched on slide, then scratched off by Exeter.
Slide says Made in Germany..Frame says DE.

Here is one for you guys to add to the list, A Swiss made in 1996 no guess at importation date but ultra rare and I have never seen these insignias on any other Swiss Police guns around.

Please Add if you want to.

P228 Serial Number B 272 4XX Swiss ti import marks guessing southern Swiss ticino district close to Italy.

I have no idea how many of these there are out in the Sig P228 police surplus market. Could be a lot, could only be a few but it is cool and I would have paid more than I did for it.

Gun is immaculate inside looks like it has been shot very little except for holster wear it looks new on the inside. Assume they probably did not have a need to Shoot it much in the Ticino district. Place looks like a paradise.
