I'm sure your Sig was born in June of 1994 in Germany.

I have a modern P232 bought new in 2007, serial S26xx06. Is there any way to derive the date of manufacture from this? The proof marks don't have any kind of date code that I can discern.

This is dark, but:

Thanks in advance,

-- Sam

Looks like an "AC" right next to the proof marks to me. If so, it's year 2002.

It looks like "AG" to me, which would make it 2006.

I'm sure your Sig was born in June of 1994 in Germany.

Actually it was assembled in the U.S. probably in 1994. Triple serial numbers do not necessarily indicate a German-made SIG, especially the early P229s that were made in the U.S. I will almost guarantee there are no German proof marks, which is a better indicator of SIGs assembled/made in Germany. Where did you get June from?

Thank you so much, both wgsigs and 12131! I don't know how I missed that. Well, I do: bad close-up vision. Smile Anyway, thank you. I'll check it "in the flesh" with good light with better reading glasses, but I'm pretty sure it's a "G", as well.
