I recently picked up a SIG P224 in 9mm, and I’m in the process of trying to source magazine extensions for it. However, this seems nigh impossible. The only game in town looks to be THESE, but from what I’ve read, their fit and finish is a bit hit or miss. Anyway, does anyone know of any alternative options for extending the magazine on a P224, either through a sleeve or magazine extension to achieve a full grip on it?

See if this helps. From a 2012 Rifleman review. "Either a P226 or P229 magazine will fit into and function in the short-butt P224. I tried all three types in my sample P224 with no problems." I have been using the X-grips on my various compact and sub-compact guns for the last few decades. Before today I had never heard of that SW company or blasterbits Cheap 3D printers have lots of people making lots of stuff these days. I would be concerned about how hard/soft the material was and how it interacts with powder solvents. Not to mention the high price X-grips have always been about half that price. You will probably have to contact the manufacturer since the pistol has been discontinued for a while. See if the can help you with old stock, or get some run in a future production I can not locate any pictures with my P224 and X-grips. Here are some with HK and S&W pistols ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ------------------------------------------------------------------ NRA Benefactor . . . Certified Instructor . . . I also just got a P224. I brought some mags from my P228 to the range yesterday and they worked just fine. But I need to find some Xgrips for those mags.

Sig Talk has info on how to make an X grip fit on a 224 mag for a pinky extension. Info from 2012. Since a 226 mag will fit in a 228--an extended 20 round 226 mag has a "factory" extension. I would assume one could take the extension off and put it on a 12 round 224 mag=making it a 17 round mag. I'm just thinking outside the box. https://www.sigsauer.com/p226-...tended-magazine.html

Hi. The sleeves off of these fit and work fine on my P224 SAS when using the P229 15 rnds https://gunmagwarehouse.com/pr...-round-magazine.html See them in action here https://www.amazon.com/photos/..._7lMV6uyLx1ibgsJbn5E https://www.amazon.com/photos/...QEpksDkwFXdYxJcl9QHu https://www.amazon.com/photos/...nohhIKktKeoLncyfTxhf Original P224 mags can be updated with Pearce Grip PG-XD https://www.pearcegrip.com/pro...field-armory-pg-xd-1 You will need to shave a hair bit of material from the back of the grip to fit and use any standard Sig P22x 9mm but plate to lock after minor spring bend https://www.amazon.com/photos/...ZV-eov937DCUcIBBdJKgThis message has been edited.
