Looking around at what is still available for the SP2022, Galloway lists a captured recoil spring kit, but only for a larger-holed slide. Presumably the larger hole is just to allow for the capture washer/screw on the end of the guide rod. NDZ has SS guide rods and don't specify the size. So, several questions: When did the SP2022 come with factory made captured assembly? Early or late? Anybody have one? Non-captured has about a 0.22" hole in the slide, captured is about 0.28" according to Galloway. Does anyone know if the Galloway springs have the same ID as stock springs? They will sell the springs separately if asked, but only guarantee them to their captured guide rod. I was thinking I would get an NDZ rod and may still be able to use it with the Galloway springs if the spring ID would match the NDZ rod OD. Or, would I be able to use the Galloway guide rod, but without the screw and washer? I don’t know a thing about the captured spring question on a 2022. My 2022 is around 20 years old. I think I got it in 2005, but that could be give or take a year. Early on I bought a solid SS rod as I don’t care for plastic rods. I see that Galloway Precision has a captured spring kit for the large hole models. https://gallowayprecision.com/...2-and-sp2340-pistols

For what it's worth, I bought my SP2022 in January 2010. Separate guide rod and flat coil spring.
