egregoreNo dedicated "house gun," just whatever pistol I carried that day. When at home it sits on a nightstand along with a hand-held flashlight. If needed, there is time to get to them and the range is longer than across a room, there are an AR-556 and a shotgun.

Steve in PADownstairs, it's a S&W 642.
Upstairs, top draw of my nightstand is a Glock 19 with a TRL light. It's my duty gun.
In the drawer below that is my off-duty Glock 26.

dking271My bedside pistol is a Gen 5 G34 with RMR and Surefire X300. Home defense is layered with better options at the ready in our fall back safe area.

casI think my house gun is a house full of guns.
Legitimately, at some point I thought to myself "Why NOT stash a gun in this closet? Why NOT hide a gun in the bathroom?"
No there's not guns in every room, but there's guns on every floor.
