Optics Question for P365-XMacro Comp Login/Join

I am thinking about "pulling the trigger" (pun intended) on a new P365-XMacro Comp for my wife. We shot one today and she really liked it and shot it well. My question is about optics. I would be putting a Halosun 507 on the gun, but I am new to red dots on pistols. Does the sight come with the mounting plate? Does the plate come with the gun? Or is it like rifle scopes where you buy the scope, mounts, and rings all separately?

A Holosun in the Shield mount model should direct mount with no plate. Makes sure you use the correct length screws with Loctite and the proper torque on the screws. Welcome aboard and other members who have greater optic mounting experience should check in with more info.

I use the Holosun EPS Carry Series on my p365, it is a direct bolt on no plate needed.

If you are wanting to put a Holosun 507 on it that mounts directly to the slide, you would need to get the Holosun 507K X2 or a 407K X2, with only difference being the 507K has the option of using just the small center dot or just the outer ring or the combo of both. The 407K just has the small center dot. The "K" series is not as large as the "C" model and the window and overall size of the sight will be smaller.

If you are going to use the 507C, which is a larger dot sight/housing, you would need a plate like from EGW or Maple Leaf. The problem then is, it will sit higher on the gun and will be a lot wider as well because of the thinner slide of the P365. You obviously won't be able to use your iron sights. I am not sure who makes or if they even do make a set of iron sights with the height/type needed with the plate and 507C dot, if you want them as a back up.

i have a 507k on my xmacro tac. I like it but I would get a 407k if I had to do it over. i dont need the ring. I also prefer the green over red.

romeo x looks good but no way I am paying twice as much as the holosun

If anyone needs a few pistol dot mounting screws send me a message and I will mail some to you. I think the SIG went straight on, but I had to source the right screws for the Holosun? I don't remember exactly what models need what screws but I bought a 100 pack from McMaster-Carr of the 8mm, 10mm and 12mm long screws.

Here's the McMaster part numbers:
94414A713 Black-Oxide Alloy Steel Torx Flat Head Screws, M3 x 0.50 mm Thread Size, 8 mm Long. pack of 100.

94414A714 Black-Oxide Alloy Steel Torx Flat Head Screws, M3 x 0.50 mm Thread Size, 10 mm Long. pack of 100.

94414A715 Black-Oxide Alloy Steel Torx Flat Head Screws, M3 x 0.50 mm Thread Size, 12 mm Long. pack of 100.

I have red dots on two P365s. Holosun 407k as a budget model and a SIG Romeo X Compact (I got it just before the Enclosed model came out). The Holosun is just a dot, the SIG gives you the option of Dot, Circle, or Circle-Dot.

The enclosed options would be Holosun EPS Carry or the SIG Romeo X Compact Enclosed. There's some benefit for daily carry to the enclosed ones, but I haven't had a big issue on the open emitters. I have a little Leupold brush and brush them out once a month.

Neither Holosun (507K or 407K) are Enclosed Emitter designs, so not a valid comparison to the Romeo-X on price.

I put 6 MOA dots on my several guns and am very happy with that set-up. My eyes are old and just don't see the 2.5 or 3.5 dots so well. I only shoot combat with the dots so the precision is not needed - at least for me.

I have this on my 365 X Macro. Sig even installed it for me. Really happy with it. I have astigmatism and most red dots starburst because of it but this one does not.

My wife has a P365 Luxe in .380 and it has the same Compact(Shield RMSc) optic cut and her 507k X2 is a direct install on the slide, no plate.

There is a new Holosun out that I want for my P365, HE507K-X2-ACSS. It has 250moa circle around the dot. If you can't see the dot, an arc from the large circle will indicate which way you need to rotate the pistol in order to pick up the dot.

A friend has one and I really like it, it's open emitter though.
