First thing I do is back the screws to the point that they don’t poke out. I then adjust the rear screw until all of the pre-travel is taken out of the trigger when it is fully forward. Next, loosen up the trigger so that it has approx 1/16 inch of pre-travel. Do a slide cycle and check the trigger in double action, and after reset. With about 1/16 inch pre-travel, it should be ok. Next, I turn in the front screw to adjust the trigger over-travel. I turn it in until trigger won’t drop the hammer (in single action), then I add 1/4 additional counter clockwise turn. Disclaimer: The above is what I do, and is successful for me. |

That's pretty much how I do it. After the hammer drops and I go 90 deg more I keep the trigger to the rear and work the hammer through it's range of motion. If it's not right you will feel it catching, back out till it's smooth. |
