For the time being,
Sig P-239 .40
Sig P-220 .45
Glock 19 9mm

I tend to carry the bigger P-220 during winter months.

With the P239 being discontinued, I won’t carry it. Frown Goodnight, sweet prince..

My old list of “best” was Commander size 1911, P239, J frame (442 specifically).

With today’s technology? P365XL slide with Macro 17 round grip, Holosun 507K and TRL-7A; P365XL slide and 10 round grip; LCP MAX.

Staccato C2 limited with Luepold DPP
S&W 6906
Springfield EMP4 CCC

Occasionally I will carry a Springfield SA35
S&W 4516
S&W 625-9 45 Colt cuz it makes me smile

I have a minty 3913, 645 and 4506 that I shoot but don't carry.

I rotate others in and out when something calls out of the safe that I haven't seen in a while.

Yeah, I used to have a couple of guns.

I don't get it. How does the gun being discontinued have an effect on carrying it? All four of my 239's now reside in my safe due to the limited capacity of the gun not because Sig discontinued it though.

I don’t have access to armorer support or a replacement weapon and I love my P239s, so would rather baby them and use them on the range than risk having something happen to it. If it was still being made, I would still carry it.

The argument for higher capacity makes sense and I get why you need a good blaster, but I view it as an elegant weapon for a more civilized age. Hard to replace, so it stays home.

I don't get it either... there's 3 dozen P239 pistols for sale on GB at the moment, not to mention those listed on SF Classifieds. Replacing a P239 isn't all that difficult.

S&W Model 64, 2” barrel, .38 Special. This is a K-Frame, stainless-steel revolving pistol.

Ruger SP101, 2.25” and 3” barrels. A bit smaller than an S&W K-Frame.

Ruger GP100, 3”, 4”, and 6” barrel lengths. My absolute best, most-consistent accuracy potential, in a range of conditions and circumstances.

These three model series get it done, and work well when I only have one good hand. My right hand is not aging so well, and has good days and bad days. If I have to shoot right-handed, because my healthier left hand has other urgent things to do, a revolving pistol does not mind if I “limp wrist.”

Had the question been “Top 4,” rather than “Top 3,” I would have started naming auto-loaders, probably the Glock G17.

In terms of hours carried:

Dan Wesson Valor 45acp
Walther PPS 9mm
Ruger LCP Custom .380acp

My G43Xmos has some catching up to do. And I have been thinking of getting a G42, having the slide milled for a dot, and using the clamp on Streamlight wml.
