I don’t understand why the manufacturers don’t incorporate something like the cut the Ruger RXM and Springfield Echelon have, where multiple footprints can be mounted without adapter plates. No one's life, liberty or property is safe while the legislature is in session.- Mark Twain

I think we're starting to see that trend. There are several "universal" type mounting cuts likes the ones you mentioned above, and the Gen 6 Glock MOS system is also a step in that direction. Even Sig started adding RMR-pattern holes to their optic cuts so users can choose between that or the DPP-footprint. It's getting better, we're just not there yet. ----------------------------------------------------------- Any comments made by this poster are my own and do not reflect the views or opinions of my employer.

Osight SE got here today. Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to get to the range until Saturday, but initial impressions are good. Build quality seems good and the buttons don't seem like they'd be easy to accidentally press. The glass is very clear, and the sight sits low enough to cowitness with the factory sights. The sight came with a nicely organized variety of screws, and easy reference on their webpage for which ones to use with the 43x mos. It does overhang the sides of the slide a little bit, and the dot blooms more with my astigmatism than some other brands, but that doesn't really bother me. Obviously the real question is how well does it hold up to actual use. I'm not going to do any YouTube style torture resting with this thing, but I'm going to carry and shoot it a bunch and I'll report back on how it goes. ----------------------------------------------------------- Any comments made by this poster are my own and do not reflect the views or opinions of my employer.

Went out and put about 200 rounds through the gun with the optic on it today Zero adjustments were tactile and repeatable. Brightness buttons did not get accidentally adjusted when manipulating the slide by using the optic, or by the holster. The optic was plenty bright even in full sunlight with snow on the ground. I dropped it into the snow and then took it into my warm car to test for fogging and observed none. So far so good. ----------------------------------------------------------- Any comments made by this poster are my own and do not reflect the views or opinions of my employer.
