I got this Sig M11-A1 coming as we speak. With all the Sig trauma going on, I am really looking forward to getting this. It has great reviews. I am surprised they are still available.

Like the MK25, I don't think the M11-A1 is in danger of being discontinued anytime soon.

The M11-A1 is a very nice pistol. I think you'll be pleased with your purchase.

I had one of the first P228’s available in 1989. Sold it several years ago and recently tried to buy it back but it was not availabke.

I think this new M11-A1 will take it’s place.

I expect you’re going to really enjoy it. I love mine, and EDC’d it for several years. I ran it through a 4-day course at Front Sight back in 2015 and it ran flawlessly. I’ve been carrying a G45 the last couple years, though. But my M11-A1 is still one of my favorites - shoots well and feels great in my hands.

I love mine. Purchased it new and sent it to Total Automation, Gerry Ritacco, for a carry action trigger job including the QTR or Quick Trigger Reset. What a joy to shoot !

I’m jonesin’ bad to add a P228 to the collection. I love my HKs, but the P228 holds a special place in my heart. Congrats on your purchase!

My very first handgun is my 228 that I bought new in December 1993. Still have it and will never sell it. Am getting ready to get a new M11 A1 myself. I've been looking at the prices and wherever I look, they are all priced the same at $1099. Is this really how much they are going for now?

I paid $900 in 2017 so $1,100 doesn't surprise me at all. BTW, I thought I paid too much at the time.

I don't know if you follow any other forums' classifieds but with so many old timers passing on their guns to youngsters, a lot of desirables are hitting the market. An inexpensive M11-A1 won't last long on this forum but on a Colt, S&W, Winchester, etc forum, they may sit for awhile and then come down.
Within the last 2 months I picked up the model you are looking for on a revolver forum, $700 delivered to my dealer. Great shape in the box. My second one. Also my first P228, from mid 90s (going by memory) for $650 shipped.
They are out there.

My new M11-A1, may be my best Sig
I was just sitting here handling and looking at my new M11-A1 I received a week ago. Haven’t been to the range yet since I am awaiting a Sig P229c I ordered several days ago.

I was wondering, why do I like this M11 so much? Then as I was looking at my classic “John Wayne” coffee cup it hit me, it is because I love older with a touch of new technology that actually works.

This gun is perfect for me.

1. It reminds me of my first P228 I bought in 1989.
2. It has no rail which I prefer.
3. I love the decock system of these older Sigs.
4. Although I prefer the white dot front and white bar rear sight picture, these new night sights seem pretty nice.
5. The SRT trigger seems great.
6. With all the trauma going on with Sig, this gun seems to bring me back into my comfort zone. It is almost as if Sig was saying to me, “We are still here”.

Just some thoughts.

Couple months ago, a LGS had a lightly used P229-1 Legion w/ threaded barrel for $760. My local Bass Pro Shop had a lightly used M11-A1 for $715, and it took months to sell.

Looking on BPS/Cabela's website right now, they show pre-owned M11-A1s for $750, $780, and $850.

A dirty range gun WG P228 was the first firearm my then-14-year-old daughter ever shot in 2008.
I bought a nice WG P228 15 years ago with the sole purpose of giving it to her on her wedding day.
Shot it once and put it in the safe.
Gave it to her last October when she married.
Original box, paperwork, test target, etc..

I often wonder if I should buy another for myself; it seems like it should be a safe requirement.
The only Sigs I have left are a couple of WG P226s.
The M11-A1 could be an option.

I also gave my new son-in-law one of my S&W 686+ TALO revolvers. Big Grin

He'll probably end up with my P226 if he acts right..
Then husband and wife will have classic Sigs made before they were born..

You guys know from the other thread that I'd been thinking about a 228 lately. I take it this is the 228 with (I presume) a milled/non-folded slide? I see the bumpy disassembly lever, and "it's got one more" on the model number. Smile. And night sights and a QR code sticker... Any other differences from a 228?

The SRT trigger along with a 15 round magazine instead of 13 rounds.

The M11-A1 is the evolution of the P228.

Picked mine up today.
Very impressed.
