DanHI prefer Federal HST in whatever flavor I can get, although 147gr seems to penetrate the most.
I have been impressed at the G9 Defense ammo that's similar to Lehigh Defense's Xtreme Defender for CCW ammo since they're aren't dependent on velocity to expand like standard hollowpoints.

WarhorseFederal HST 147gr in my P365/G19, these two get the majority of my carry time.

bronicabillFor me it varies a bit based on what's available, but normally it's either Hornady Critical Duty or Speer Gold Dots, both at 124gr.

My other 2 9mm pistols (KelTec P11 & Ruger LC9) are loaded with 115gr Hornady Critical Defense.
The sharper taper on the bullet feeds much more reliably in the P11 than wider-mouthed rounds like Federal Hydrashoks, which would occasionally hang on the feed ramp.
I don't recall what I used to keep in the 320 when it was originally a 9mm.
Got good responses on my similar rifle thread for .223/5.56 options, hoping for more of the same here.
Thanks, gents!
Currently running IMI 124 gr Di-cut JHP in my P226 and 92FS pistols.

mike28wG9 9mm,"external hollow point", 80 grain solid copper advertised at 1480fps (who know how fast it actually goes! LOL!!) Mostly, because it looks "cool"!!
As long as it's a well-known self-defense round, I'm not sure it really matters.... they're all underpowered or overpowered depending on the situation. JMO.

1lieutenantSpeer Gold Dot 124gr
Feeds reliably in my HK VP9SK and FN Reflex
I have an extensive supply I bought when it was a lot less expensive. At this time , not sure why I would want to try others.

sig2392I am just using 9MM FMJ 124 grain.
Years ago I tested some FMJ vs Hollow point.
At the distance I thought I was mostly going to use it, it did not seem to make a lot of difference.
The holes were close enough the same it did not seem to matter.
It seemed what was more important was what they hit rather than the HP vs FMJ
I have been using FMJ for everything ever since.
I have never taken my gun out of my pocket except at the range.
YMMV

Bigjoe001Federal HST 124 or Federal Hydra-Shok 124, both standard pressure for any of my carry 9mm, depending on which one is most accurate in a particular gun, also same for HD when I do have a 9mm out, which is seldom (I mostly use .45 for HD), and Federal HST 124+P for car or truck duty.

hudr9MM: Speer Gold Dot 147 standard pressure
I tried one box of Hornady Critical Defense or Duty load (don’t remember exactly) in 9MM.
One re-chamber and the bullet was noticeably set back. Re-chambered two more rounds, same thing. It took several re-chambers to do the same thing to a Gold Dot. I don’t make a bit of re-chambering rounds, but I’d prefer they not setback that easily.
YMMV
