I wish I had bought a real Kadet. I have two of the slides but the whole gun would have been cool. Sorry about the divorce bills but you know what they say about why it’s so expensive. Lol

My Kadet is currently on a PCR mule.

In 2014 due to a financial problem, I needed to sell my PCR that I had been tickled pink with. In 2017 I bought a P-01. Accurate and 100% reliable, but the trigger gouged my finger so badly that it left a flap of skin hanging and stung. This is hard to understand, because it appeared to be the same trigger as the PCR, but the latter gun was 100% comfortable to shoot. So what do I do? Spend $200 more on it at CGW for a different-shaped trigger and some mild action tuning, followed by $160 for some night sights. Bottom line: like it, but don't love it. My P320 is my EDC.

My memory might be off and I swapped them all years ago but I recall 2 different triggers in those two guns. My PCR had a grooves trigger and the P01 had a smooth but wickedly curved trigger. Like so curved it was odd. Either way I swapped them with what I think is called the 85 Combat trigger, which I may have made that name entirely up lol. It was a much more traditionally shaped trigger that I like loads better. The CZ’s benefit hugely from trigger work. It isn’t cheap though.

I stumbled upon that Kadet several years ago at a local shop for $500 with 4 factory mags. There were scorch makes on my wallet from pulling the card out quickly. Even then that was a steal. I happened to be in the same shop last week doing a transfer for a Dan Wesson Valor 9mm and mentioned that. They were surprised it had been priced that low. I think it was a consignment. I've lucked into a lot of incredible consignment deals in this area.

I snagged one second hand out of a local shop for not much money. I never shot it so put it up on GB for a penny start to pass it on...OH MY. I had no idea it would finish for a four digit price. Didn't realize they were in demand when one could buy a Kadet upper for basically what I paid for the complete pistol. I'm used to .22 clone pistols being $300 items so it didn't dawn on my it would go for what it did.

I have the same recollection.

I think it’s because the Kadets are built like real 75s instead of using mystery metals as many of the rimfire clones do. If I remember correctly, it’s possible to safely drop a 9mm upper onto a Kadet frame but don’t take my word for it.

I am pretty sure you are correct. CZ is too cheap to actually produce a separate 22 frame. Lol

Good thread, Gents! I have a recent Kadet upper, and it runs fine on my mid-90s full-size 75 decocker frame. I would like to get a dedicated lower for it, but the one I found, popular place, but can’t remember the name, is an SA-only frame and does not accommodate the FP safety so can’t be easily swapped around with any other uppers. Have any of you smart and savvy guys encountered a place with frame only’s for sale? I would even be amenable to a surplus frame, since I would just ship it off to CCR anyway to make it look purty. I’ve got a couple of decocker P01’s,haven’t tried it, but wonder if it would work just for giggles - still want a dedicated lower.

If I understand your question, Kadet kits work just fine on P01 frames. There are 2 things to consider though. It might need a different slide release to function as a lock back on empty 22 and the mags have to have the base plates swapped to the compact size if you don’t want them sticking out if your magwell. Both pretty easy fixes if you desire.

Got the LOK grips. Very nice. Sights next. Recommendations? Maybe a lighter hammer spring.

You owe it to yourself to give one a try...they are stellar self defense handguns.

My PO1 is the standard version with 15 round mags that has been upgraded with XS Tritium sites, a steel guide rod, and VZ grips. It makes a very carry friendly handgun. I recommend it highly, if you can find one...

Can't wrong with the PCR too
