What are the smallest pistols which have or could be cut for the original Glock MOS footprint?

The Holosun SCS is by far my favorite optic and I would like to incorporate it into a sub/compact daily carry pistol.

The Glock Store will cut your Glock 43 and 42 and get it back to you in 10 days. I had one of my 43s done with a Holosun 507 and was satisfied with the cut, price and amazed at the speed-8 days from the day they got my slide I had it back in hand.

I would think the MOS cut would be too wide for the 43x/48. So my guess is the 26/27/29/30 etc. is your smallest MOS footprint. (I could be wrong of course)

Conversely you could run an SCS Carry on a 43x/48. Same basic concept.

Chris.

Holosun k footprint which is the RMSC footprint without 2 of the lugs. (All the Holosuns come with an adapter plate).

I for one love the fact that we have eleventy billion mounting solutions instead of something crazy like a universal standard. I mean this whole push to standardize on USB-C is crazy talk I tells ya. Roll Eyes

There's a lot of good stuff out there that will fit that footprint. I keep going back and forth about getting a G48 or a 43X. It won't be anytime soon, but it might be a good way to finally try out an SCS.

So I’ve been tinkering with the “thin micro nines” for a couple years now and have a little experience with most of them. Now of course I am just a layman and don’t have the skills, talent or training to give advice but here is my “idjit on the web hot take”

The Glock 48 shoots and carry’s the best of all the guns in this class that I’ve tried. The extra barrel length drastically helps with shooting dynamics and that extra barrel really does bring “the keel principle” in play making concealment super easy. The shape and texture of the grip are very comfy when IWB (same for 43x here of course). So given the choice of 48 or 43x I’m going 48, but again……idjit on the interwebz. Smile

My brother has a 43X, and I was pretty impressed with it. It feels a lot better in my hand than the P365. It wouldn't be a pocket gun for me, so I figure the longer barrel of the 48 wouldn't really have any downsides.

If you like shooting the 43x you’ll love the 48. A decade a go the 48 would have been called the Glock 19S (slim). It really reminds me of a modern version of those 8 round single stacks of the past (P225, Smith 3913 etc.) I mean it’s still a Glock with all the good and bad that comes with it but IMO the 48 doesn’t get the respect it should, and I run nothing but OEM 10 rounders.

The Holosun SCS direct fits the "full size" Glocks with MOS. The SCS Carry is a slightly smaller design made to fit the slim line Glocks such as the 43x and 48.

Even though Glock advertises then 43x as an "MOS" model, the footprint is actually an RMSc style.

So you would use the SCS Carry along with the supplied adapter plate from Holosun to mount it onto the slimline pistols. You can also do a direct mount of either the SCS Carry (or EPS Carry, same basic style but the EPS uses a battery), but to direct mount you need to mill down the 2 rear lugs under the MOS cover plate.

I had a 48 for short time, and didn't care for it, but have a couple of the 43x and love them. My LGS said he won't stock the 48 as no one wants them and the only ones he ever gets are used.

Surprises me to see such positives on the 48 here. I found the extra length made me think I could carry a 19 as easily. Both the 48 and 19 dig into my hip when carried at 3, 3:30 or 4. The 48 shot fine and I have considered a PSA Micro Daggar with the built in comp for $359, but if I can't comfortably carry it, why bother.

Maybe it's just the differences in body shape or height or...?

What’s funny is I carry at 3’ish O’clock and the 48 is one of if not the most comfortable carry guns I’ve ever used. It’s night and day more comfortable than the 19 for me. I’m not saying carrying a 19 or similar sized handgun is a big deal but the 48 is very noticeably more comfortable to carry.

Like I always tell people. Never magazine race. Just because something is better or worse on paper or vastly preferred or disliked you won’t know until you get ass in seat or in this case gun in hand / on hip because we are all different.

Im getting really annoyed with all the mounting footprints. I'm done with adapter plates and custom milling for a footprint only to have to change when a better optic is available.
