Anyone have any experience adding a red dot to a SIG P365? Trying to help out a family member and not sure what direction to point. Mill the slide, adapter or just look at a aftermarket slide?

I went the mill route and had Maple Leaf Firearms cut my gun for a Holosun 507K. I find the factory 365X and XL slides disappointing in their lack of a rear sight dovetail. Although the 507K does have a very rudimentary rear sight notch, I would rather not have to use it.

There are a number of quality outfits for slide cuts as well. I went with Maple Leaf in large part because their LE discount brings the cut to $75 and their turnaround time is only a couple weeks.

I had Maple Leaf mill mine as well also for the 507k. Very happy with the results and their price is very good even without the mil/le discount.
