Like everyone who has been collecting for awhile, I have several boxes of holsters. Summer holsters, winter holsters, OWB, IWB.

Seem to always be looking for that holster, that I know I have. I started writing the gun model on the holster.

Was thinking of a stand up cabinet with plastic bins, labeled. Would take up a lot of space.

How do you do it?

I try and keep the holster in the original packaging and keep it in a box specific to the pistol It's made for. For Holsters that come in plastic bags it'0s easy.

I also tend to own pistols that share a common form factor. For example Glocks and P320s. One holster for Glock 17 or full sized 320 can accommodate multiple variations of that pistol (Full ize,Carry,Compact, X-Compact). However, I have to check the retention of the holster IOT sure it' a good fit. For revolvers, I've found that a Smith L frame holster also fits a similarly sized Python and my kydex 3" 66 holster fits a 2 3/4" Ruger Service Six (at least for range purposes).

I have an old 5 drawer Ikea dresser that I've been toting around since my first college apartment, which I now use to organize my holsters and mag pouches.

One drawer each for 9mm Glocks, .45 Glocks, Sigs, and Misc. (S&W M&P, 1911, etc.), and then one for leftover duty gear.

I have a bunch of large (2 gallon?) ziploc type bags. I put all the holsters for a given firearm together in a bag and label it for that firearm. Beyond that, all the bags get tossed in a plastic tub w a lid in the bottom of a closet, lol.

Mine are stashed all over the place, in various drawers or shooting bags, with no labels.

This system mostly works well, because I have a pretty good memory. But I do have two identical R Grizzle holsters for a Beretta 92 Centurion I have. I forgot I had one, and ordered another. I am at least consistent, because I ordered the exact same holster the second time with no memory of the first. Wink

I keep my gear in those Rubbermaid tubs with locking lids. I keep holsters in plastic bags with whatever accessories they came with labeled and in a box inside the containers. Once in a while I'll go through and sell off something that I didn't like, don't use, or don't have the gun for anymore.

It has become a chore. I very rarely buy a handgun that I don't carry, even if only limited times. Seems like every couple years I'll switch my edc.

I keep them all jumbled together in an awful mess in a large tote.

Or on the floor relatively near the large tote. And there's one or two on my desk. Some with my hunting clothes. Some with some other gear.

To answer your question, I guess I don't.

I don’t do well either, several boxes. The good thing, I have my favorites, so they are more accessible.

They’re not very well organized. I have a large trunk and several drawers in my closet and office desk. I have a pretty good memory and tend to know where things are but I really need to go through and get a better inventory of what I have.

I use a shoe organizer attached to the back of the gun room door. Mine has 5 slots on each row with 6 rows, so it covers most of the door. I screwed it into the door in numerous places to hold the weight and keep it from flopping around when opening the door. The slots are labeled to organize the holsters and hold the magazines as well. They're about $10 - $15 on Amazon.

"Organized" is a stretch but ones I don't use regularly are in an underbed sterlite under a bed (either mine or guest room, I'd have to look). In use are in wood ammo box on top of a safe.

I'm hoping for some idea from you folks as I have some stuck in a bag next to a safe, some in the safes, and I can see four on a shelf from where I now sit at my computer.

I've got some labels with strings and I'm thinking of taping them to the holsters with a description of what they fit, but still got the problem of where to store them.

Most of my holsters for carry purposes are kydex and I also write what model they are for, not for me but for the family, in case anything happens to me they know what they will fit. I keep them in a plastic container in my closet for the most part.

In several duffle bags, with no idea what is where.

If I ever need a holster, it's fun to see what I forgot have

The only holsters I keep separate are the leather masterpieces from R Grizzle, or Kramer, maybe another 1 -2 other makers....I need to go look and see.....

I have five holsters in regular rotation that I keep in my top dresser drawer. The rest are in a medium sized box on the floor of a locked closet where I keep other firearm related stuff. All are marked with a silver sharpie which gun they go with. That's the sad extent of my so called organization.
