I’ve been looking for a 1911 10mm for a while. LGS has a nice looking Desert Eagle 1911 10mm. It’s $900. I was only able to quickly give it a look. Feels ritht and well made. Is it good to go or go with a Ruger or Springfield. Either way, I’ll have to get an ambi safety installed as I’m a lefty. I’d love to hear some feedback, good or bad. ----------------------------------------- Roll Tide! Glock Certified Armorer NRA Certified Firearms Instructor

I bought one last June. I've had no issues with it so far after about 300 rounds. It soaks up the recoil, it's accurate and it has a beautiful trigger. My 12 year old son and I were shooting it last weekend and he loved it. My only dislike is the front sight is plain black. I ended up using my drill press to make a 5/32 divot in the front sight and filled it with white enamel paint, turned out great and looks factory. I paid $789, but mine did not include the fixed blade knife with the extra set of grips as the handle. I posted a pic of my 1911 Desert Eagle 10mm in this thread the day after I bought it. 1911 10mm thread Hater of fun since 2001!

I had one and loved it. Hit about 500 rounds with it before I traded it for the next "had to have" item. It was easy to shoot and never had a malfunction

Ha! That was my thread. I guess I finally scratched that itch. The trigger on mine is great as well. I’ve read they are very accurate. Will have to do something with the black front sight though. Mine looks just like yours. I’m impressed with the fit and finish. ----------------------------------------- Roll Tide! Glock Certified Armorer NRA Certified Firearms Instructor

I did end up buying a fiber optic front sight and was going to install it, but the front sight on the DE would not budge with a polymer punch and the slide wouldn't fit in my "universal" sight pusher, so the fiber optic sits in my parts bin until I find a gunsmith to install it. I did such a nice job with the drill bit divot method though that I doubt I'll ever swap it out. I'll post up the youtube video link if I ever find it again. Hater of fun since 2001!
