I own the earlier M9A3 Black, which is essentially the same pistol as the M9A4. It's a PHENOMENAL handgun. It may be the most accurate handgun in my collection.
The recoil is as light as a 1911 9mm, the relability is better, and Mec-Gar magazines are just about the best made.
The M9A4 is a gigantic pistol, so I would suggest the M9A4 in the Centurion size with the G model decocker only. It will be harder to conceal than smaller pistols (G19), but if you have the correct body type, a good scabbard holster from R Grizzle or JM Custom Kydex will help out.
The trigger will be good out of the box; however, Langdon Tactical offers a Trigger Job in a Bag (TJIB) and it's worth every penny. The M9A4 has the Vertec grip, which is like a 1911, and good for smaller hands.
I just don't know how you go wrong with an M9A4.

What is your motivation for the M9A4? I looked into it but I'm now more interested in the 92GTS Centurion. Primarily because of the new decocker/safety setup.
I have a SS 92 compact that I love. I’ve wanted a large frame 92 for the longest time. Nightstand gun, paper puncher. I just want a quality non plastic pistol. Keep my CZ Shadow 2 company.

I absolutely love mine. I have several different flavors of the 92 platform, and this might be my favorite one. Mine came from the Tennessee plant and it is absolutely flawless.
I have a 92 & 92 compact. I thought the military should have went with some version of the 92 compact. For what they do, carry a lot, limited use, I like the manual of arms.
Plus with the compact, all those 92 full size magazines are usable.

Love my M9A4, I have both the full-size and Centurion. However, 2 pistols have replaced these on my favorite list, the Squalo, which is SA only, which was my favorite, but now my Langdon Tactical M9 Centurion takes the cake. If you go with the M9A4, get the trigger job in a bag and the Volker flat trigger.

I’ve developed a love over the M9 over the last few years. They’re big bit great shooters and they slick up really nice with little effort.
My m9a4 Centurion is a great shooter and I’ve left it completely stock.
If you ever want to turn a 92 variant into something really nice the Langdon Trigger Job in a Bag is worth the coin. Add the Langdon action bar and a couple hundred rounds of break in and you’ll be amazed just how nice that trigger is. I’ve done a couple that way now and it’s night and day from stock.
I had an M9 for a while. It's a great gun, it was just a little too big for my smallish hands and so I wound up trading it off. Hated to let it go but it just didn't quite fit me.
My Langdon Special M9 is one of my favorite shooting guns, right next to P229 Legion (flat trigger, 17lb hammer spring). I actually changed out my P229 spring to try and match the pull weight of the Langdon. If you can swing the price, I would highly recommend a LTT Beretta; if not, upgrade whatever you get with the ultra-thin G10 Grips, 12 or 13lb hanger spring, and the optimized trigger bar. I bought all three from LTT along with a G-deckocker only conversion kit.
