It will be interesting to see what will be the gun club/range/match tipping point to let the guns back into use. Forget selling 320’s, just letting a guy shoot his 320 at their range. This, and this alone, will force Sig into some kind of action. Inertia is a bitch. They banned them. They aren’t just going to unban them with a shoulder shrug and a “my bad”. Sig has to do something.

I’ve bought plenty of stupid gun shit in my lifetime. I feel this makes me mildly qualified to say buying a 320 at this point would fit right into that category. This is worse than the drop safe issue because at least that had a quantifiable fix. This is a self perpetuating CF that has no end in sight. Even if they do “fix” it Sig is going to have to sell them cheap for a while to get anybody back on board.

These guns aren’t a bargain at any price. Caveat emptor.

Looks like I sold my 320 just in time. I wasn’t getting rid of it because of the discharge scare, I just wanted something else. I sold it in May for $400, I bought it new for $375.

Alas, they are also banned from most places I shoot.

These aren’t a bargain to my mind. Sure you can pick them up cheap but honestly why would you?

...what fix can sig make for a stupid public? The guns have been found over and over to not be defective. find better places to shoot.

Find better places to shoot? IDPA banned all 320 variants. It’s not a matter of finding better places, it’s a matter of figuring out how to unwind this nonsense. Sig can let the market unwind itself which would be financial disaster or they can figure some way to manipulate the market into accepting a “fix” whether the fix is imaginary or not.

I could care less. Like I’ve said a dozen times, I’ve moved on from the 320 years ago. Sold half of them still have half. I haven’t shot them for years have no plans to start even if I had a place to shoot them. Paperweights. Paperweights that work fantastically.

Yeah, that's kind of a thoughless take. Guys that have thousands wrapped up in P320 competition rigs can't shoot them in matches. It isn't a matter of finding better places to shoot if you're really active in IDPA, USPSA or PCSL. You're going to have to switch pistols or stop competing, full stop. Nobody I know is going to quit shooting because they can't shoot their chosen platform in matches, they're going to switch guns.

Like Pedro says, SIG is going to have to unfuck this somehow. If the P320 is verboten to competition shooters, I don't see how the platform survives, and I say that knowing full well that the duty side of sales is still a major factor. If you totally lose the competitive market, you're done.

I guess people won’t be happy until Sig recalls every P320 and puts a trigger dongle in, and even after that, people will still have AD/NDs. The P320 is already cursed in too many people’s minds, and it’s probably too late for Sig to change that. Sig, like they usually do, seems to have just moved on and are turning the P365 into a P320 replacement.

I hope that besides adding reliable trigger safety for the P320 SIG also does the following things

a) Add a functional internal sear block for when the manual safety of M17/M18 is engaged

b) Create and make publicly available using one of the Creative Commons licenses a set of documented procedures and measurement criteria to test semi-auto pistol safety.
In other words, in good faith -- give something back to the CCW and mil/police communities, something that's long lasting and has a positive effect on just just SIG USA, but the whole industry and the consumer communities.

Part it out separately. You probably will get more money than selling it complete. There are plenty of P320 owners that are looking for extra parts. That’s been my experience anyway.

Well, that's $100 more than many gun shops were offering a couple months ago, so... progress?

Illinois is never a good example of anything other than what's bad, but a quick search didn't show any P320's at fire-sale prices. I'd grab a standard Compact if I could find one cheap.

That’s what they are bringing locally.

They can’t give them away. They are selling a new 320 AXG for $700. I gave almost double that for mine. And they aren’t selling.

AimSurplus currently has LEO trade-in P320 X-Carry RXPs (straight trigger, Romeo1 Pro optic) for $399.95. Sig MSRP on these is $999.99. MSRP on the Romeo1 Pro by itself is $349.99.

Too bad they're full-size, 17-rd capacity. I saw a stripped 320 next to the X-Carry RXP that was more my style, but still 17-rd.

For that price, I'd probably get a compact, 15-rd version, if it was available. (Illinois restrictions, you know...)

You could make one, I did. The absolute beauty of the P320 platform is the modularity. You could simply swap out the Grip Module for an X-Compact Grip Module, add some 15rd Mags and Boom.....'Go-Go-Gadget' Compact! Wink

If I'm carrying a P320, it's probably this one Cool

I can't legally buy the full-size gun to swap parts with. I suspect something will show up eventually, I'll keep an eye on Aim Surplus and a couple other sources.

P.S. Nice looking gun!

^^ Perhaps they'll ship it w/o the mags, and maybe provide 'some' credit towards purchase of 15 rd mags if purchased as part of the same transaction?

I'll keep that in mind but for now I'll wait for a compact. I've never even seen a P320, let alone held one.

I'm not a striker fired guy so the P320 was never in the race for me.

However, I do like and own several P250's in various configurations. Now is the time to be buying compatible components to upgrade my P250s.

Barrels, grip modules and magazines from P320s can be had on the cheap right now.
