No, seriously. Is there anything falling in that very small gap?

KelTec P11 might be LxH smaller, but it probably wider

I think I'm stuck in the middle. The Max-9 may be okay but I like single stacks.

LCP max. The 9mm ruger and the shield possibly, but they're probably a tad bigger than the 365

I was thinking LC9, but couldn't recall how it dimensionally compared to the 365. Definitely thinner than my P11 suggestion

If Ruger, Sig, or Smith could have engineered a gun that split the difference size wise between those two and chambered it in 30 Super Carry, that round might have had a chance. I think we are approaching the limit re: small 9’s and 380 leaves something to be desired as far as performance.

I wish there was something that fit right between the two.

Which P365 are we comparing against, 9mm or .380? The .380 version is slightly smaller in height.

Keeping everything confined to .380, Ruger's own LCP II is slightly bigger in profile than the original LCP, as is their LCP MAX. SIG's own P239 and Kimber's Micro 380 also slot in-between profile-wise with the .380 P365 and the original LCP. I'd surmise that other similar guns to those two like the Colt Mustang and the Springfield 911 .380 would also be "tweeners" as well.

The Glock G42 is longer than the P365-380 but a smidgen shorter in height. To me it's virtually the same size as the SIG albeit with less capability due to its meager capacity.

EDIT: if 9x19 comes into play, every micro 9 that I'm aware of except maybe something from Kahr is larger in profile and/or one dimension or the other to the P365.

I'm guessing you meant P238? P239 would not be smaller than a 365

Well I'm really comparing them against a Hellcat micro, but I figured 365 was the way to ask. lol

Just looking for models I hadn't thought of/remembered to compare on Handgun Hero, so far no real revelations. All I am realizing is the Hellcat is smaller than I thought. lol

Anything "almost the same size" is kind of pointless, not gaining much if anything in terms of conceilment.

I had an LCP, and I now sort of wish I still had it. Along the way I ended up with a KelTech .32, that I wish I didn't own for a few reasons. I always viewed it like a loud knife. Wink
(the LCP I could actually hit relatively small targets at much greater distances than one would imagine, if you really tried)

Obviously you never got suckered by the 380 version, the only way to make those reliable is point the ejection port at the floor. I loaded up a 38 case with enough 3N37 to stop the bullet seating depth at a hard point and it still wouldn't reliably eject a round with enough force to insure you didn't end up with a case jam. In all the testing I did never did get thru one single magazine without a jam and some were a real BITCH to clear. Such as the one where an empty case would end up in the chamber with the extractor on top of the case. That one required a pencil to get the case clear and that is an item not normally in my range bag.

What is a real shame about it was the trigger was the smoothest DA Trigger I have ever shot with and I have some very well tuned S&W revolvers in my collection. The Smiths are quite smooth but the p290 was like leather soled shoes on wet ice, you could roll thru that trigger an not feel anything at all except for the spring tension.

As for a slightly smaller version of the P365 you will want to go straight to the Ruger LC9S, the footprint is nearly identical but the Ruger is the King of Slim compared to the Wide Body P365. Another plus for the Ruger is the trigger is much better than the trigger on the P365.

I've stopped counting.

There's no need to estimate, eyeball it, or guess based on that half-remembered time that you may have fondled some specific handgun model months ago. Big Grin

If you want to directly compare the dimensions between handguns, it's quick and easy to do with the Handgun Hero website. Select two handguns from the menus, and it'll populate a comparison chart with the dimensions side by side, as well as display comparison images to scale.

https://www.handgunhero.com/

For example, the LCP is 0.64" shorter in length, 0.4" shorter in height, and 0.18" thinner than the P365. So that's the window you're working within here.

The P11 is 0.2" longer, and the same height and width. So very slightly larger than the P365.

The G42 is 0.14" longer, but 0.17" shorter and 0.06" thinner. So effectively the same size as the P365.

The G43 is 0.46" longer and 0.06" wider, and only 0.05" thinner. So slightly larger overall than the P365.

The PPS is 0.52" longer, 0.6" taller, and 0.1" wider. So larger overall than the P365.

The 340PD is 0.5" longer and 0.3" wider, and only 0.01" shorter in height. So larger overall than the P365. (Albeit in different areas, since it's a revolver instead of a semiauto.)

The LC9S is 0.2" longer and 0.2" taller, but only 0.1" thinner. So slightly larger overall than the P365. (And hardly the "King of Slim", since it's not really noticeably slimmer despite its lower single stack capacity.)

The Beretta Nano is 0.17" shorter in length, 0.13" shorter in height, and 0.1" thinner. So very slightly smaller than the P365.

The APX A1C is 1.1" longer, 0.9" taller, and 0.3" wider. So noticeably larger than the P365.

And finally, even though it hasn't been mentioned yet: The Hellcat Micro is 0.2" longer but 0.3" shorter in height, and the same width. So effectively the same size overall as the P365.

So of the ones mentioned so far, the options that are slightly larger than the LCP but slightly smaller than the P365 are:

Sig P290 RS
Sig P238
Beretta Nano
Ruger LCP Max
Kahr PM9/CM9

But importantly, 4/5 of those are lower capacity than the P365, and 3/5 are a step down to .380 (including the LCP Max that at least has the same capacity as the P365...) So each of them means a loss of capacity and/or caliber, for not that much difference in size compared to the P365 - anywhere from hundredths to a few tenths of an inch.

And I can attest from direct personal experience with the PM9 and P365 that a few tenths of an inch doesn't really matter in person. The PM9 may look a bit smaller on paper, but in the hand side-by-side, they're effectively the exact same size.

So just go with the P365. Wink

The P365 is quite impressive overall.
