I was a purveyor of these small guns, but have abandoned it finally. I would buy little interesting .25s, .22 shorts, many would need repair. I had a little Iver Johnson .25 that had a gummy firing pin that protruded, and when I went to retract the slide the round in chamber fired upon extraction, that was close.

I ha a little .22 short NAA as pictured, was shooting it, and managed to cock it, dropped it on range bench pointed at my abdomen, thankfully it did not strike the exposed trigger. That was the second I gave them all up.

I kept my little inox 950, and PSP .25, as they are accurate, reliable, and easy to find parts.

Have fun but just be extra careful.

I just recently purchased a NAA revolver in .22 Short and put it through its paces, 150 rounds of a mix of CCI hollow points and round nose and not a misfire breaking it in. I'm quite satisfied with it given the limitations. After thoroughly cleaning and lubing it lightly, it is not going to be a range toy, but strictly as a last resort emergency weapon, and also something I carry for walking/jogging/sprinting in the morning. My regular concealed carry guns are too heavy for this activity and the NAA is perfect.

I have the regular mini-revolver in .22 mag with the .22 lr conversion cylinder, and it shoots Speer Gold Short Barrel the most accurately and true (no tumbling) vs the other ammo that I have tested.

No rush, but I’ll probably pick up the .22 short model sometime.

Regarding the merits of .22 something on hand for self-defense purposes, it’s better than nothing.

How many cans of SPAM will a .22 short penetrate?

This guy has a few ‘fun’ videos of shooting various targets with his NAA .22 short revolver.
