I posted a Karma for two 10 round CC9 magazines and it was asked why I sold it. Honestly at this point it comes down to space more then anything. Specific to the CC9 I had three primary "complaints" over the 12-1500 rounds I put through it ranging from least important to most important issues to me. 1-THE TRIGGER The HK CC9 and VP series triggers are really VERY GOOD striker fired triggers. They just "FEEL" different to me and I always seem to find my way back to Glock or Walther or other striker fired mechanisms. This is 100% a ME THING not a gun thing. I wish I had to skill or talent to explain it more succinctly but I do not. I think I just find that overall, as good as they are, I don't prefer HK striker fired triggers. I don't care for the SIG strikers either. Again its a ME thing. 2-THERE IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH WINCHESTER WHITE BOX AMMO. HK RECOMMENDS NOT USING. Is this a BIG FAT HAIRY DEAL!!? No, not really, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't bug me. I've used Win White Box stuff for 25-30 years and while it certainly isn't the greatest stuff on the market and it sure as hell runs dirty and can be a bit inconsistent its always run fine through everything I've put it through (SIGS, Glocks, Other HK's, Beretta's etc. etc. etc.). Again not a huge deal but it annoys me when a new production factory gun has issues with a widely produced and used factory brass cased ammunition. 3-I JUST DIDN'T INDEX IT AS EASILY OR NATURALLY AS I WANTED This was really the big reason. While I absolutely don't have a great deal of skill or talent shooting I do, generally, index/bring to point of aim most guns without much effort. The CC9 was just requiring a bit too much effort for me to confidently do this. I absolutely could have trained through it but I didn't want to. Ultimately I sort of just fell in love with the slimline Glocks and my 48 and decided I wanted a 43X and like I said I was out of room. I LOVE THE 48 and 43X, I run them naturally and they carry great for me. So I "made room" for a Glock 43X. The CC9 is a great little carry pistol. It is super soft shooting on par or better then the Shield Plus. It carries great, shoots great and is priced well. It just ultimately didn't "fit me" like I wanted it to where the Glocks do. I have a ton of guns and that is both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because I have the variety and experience to get a feel for a great many platforms. A curse because I will never be a master of one. I totally could have mastered the CC9 and been extremely happy with it but I didn't have to and knew there was something else that sort of fit that role for me better. At the end of the day after climbing down the "thin, itty bitty, nine" rabbit hole and trying pretty much all of them the Glocks work the best for me. Nothing more to it then that. Fair enough. I agree that Sig and to a lesser extent HK striker guns don’t feel as good as a Glock. Probably because I’ve put 1 million rounds through Glocks and a fraction of that through SIG and HK striker guns. I too have really gone towards the G43x. I either carry that my Sig365 in front pocket or P2000 inside the waistband. Some guns just naturally point better for the particular shooter than others. Thanks for taking the time to detail your experience. ----------------------------------------- Roll Tide! Glock Certified Armorer NRA Certified Firearms Instructor

Nice write-up, as usual. The issue you might be having with the trigger (correct me if I’m wrong) is the same one I originally had (before I got used to it), which is that the VP9 series (excluding the VP9CC) and the CC9 both have the trigger shoe travel end somewhere in the middle of the trigger guard, rather than all the way at the back (i.e. resting on the rear surface), like some of the others you mentioned. The break itself is clean (probably only beaten by Walther, which is the best), as are the other trigger characteristics, but the trigger not going all the way back forces you to adjust your grip in a way you wouldn’t have expected, especially considering how amazing the guns otherwise are ergonomically.

Sorry it didn't work out. They do look like nice little guns, but the one I handled was just way too small for my big paws, much like the P365 and many of the other micro-nines.
You and I ended up at the same place, so at least I'm in good company ----------------------------------------------------------- Any comments made by this poster are my own and do not reflect the views or opinions of my employer.

How has the grit grips been for reliability? I am low key thinking of building another 48/43x with a grit grips frame. Take Care, Shoot Safe, Chris

100% agree with your opinion CSlinger. I’ve always felt like HK pistols felt best in my hand but the trigger didn’t. Overly curved and lack of SAO options kept me from anything more than experimenting. This message has been edited. Last edited by: OttoSig, Eight years to retirement! Just waiting!

I did have minor issue. The little plastic nub that sticks up on the back of the frame that interfaces with the notch in the slide backplate was a little wide and just barely rubbing the edge of the backplate. Apparently it was enough contact that under recoil it would bump the backplate hard enough to dislodge it, which locks the gun up out of battery. I shaved literally the width of maybe 2 hairs off that frame protrusion to keep it from touching the backplate, and the gun has been 100% ever since, over 2000 rounds. Mine was one of the first batch of frames that they released...I was checking the website daily and ordered the second I got the email notification. I did contact them about my issue just to let them know and they said that they'd not heard that complaint from anybody else, so maybe it was just my copy. Either way, it was an easy fix that cost me nothing, and I otherwise been very happy with the frame. The materials feel like OEM Glock quality, with better texture, better contours, and a slightly better grip angle. The factory frame slid around in my hand enough that I got trigger slap. This one doesn't do that. From what I understand, he guy from GritGrips also designed the GlockStore 26X frame, and there are enough similar elements between his work and the Gen 6 factory changes that it wouldn't surprise me if Glock took some inspiration from him when they were putting theirs together. ----------------------------------------------------------- Any comments made by this poster are my own and do not reflect the views or opinions of my employer.

I'm about six mos into my CC9 and it immediately went back to HK for a warranty replacement of the trigger bar. I so hate the cheap iron sights on this gun, but don't want to mount an optic and no one makes night sights for this gun other than XS and I just don't like them. I filed down a Trijicon Bright & Tough front sight and made it fit, but could not find a suitable rear. I want to get my hands on a VP9CC, but they are hard to come by and I doubt the night sight situation with them is any better. Freewill Firearms 07 FFL, Class 2 SOT

Thanks for the write up and it's giving me more to think on. I've carried a P365 very often for years and love it but, the grip does fill "tiny" and I've often wondered if I should branch out some for this type of pistol. I absolutely can't stand the feel, both handling and shooting, the little Glocks. My hand fills up nicely with guns like the P224. I may have to give one of these HK's a try some day.....I'm a huge HK fan, so it wouldn't be anything new other than the size.
