Does anyone have an idea how many of these stainless slide pistols were made with no rail?

Sorry Udo, no UU serial number.

I do have this "U" serial number stainless, rail-less beauty however.
I called Sig back in the day and was told less than a hundred, probably 50 or less.

I always thought the answer was zero because UU P226s have U.S. made frames and I always believed U.S. made P226 frames all had rails.

I had a UU 226. Bought it used probably 15 years ago. It was a 2 tone, plain Jane, no rail, no tail.

In full disclosure, after your comment (and .38suppersig) I made a phone call. Was on the road at 0530 Monday for a three hour round trip over two ridges into Eastern timezone to make a private purchase of that pistol so we could have a reference photo. I‘ve been quite impulsive the last couple of weeks
