Only somewhat paid attention to all the 320 differences and changes over the years. So I have so questions I think I have answered in my reading but want to double check.

I bought a used/unfired FDE Compact with night sights. She is ugly as could be but she also only cost 3 bills.

According to the box this is an April 2017 gun. Would this be one of the guns that needs to be sent back because of the “drop fire” issue?

The base price plates say Sig Sauer and not the Sig circle logo. Are these the mags that will not work in newer grip modules? If not will a simple base plate swap resolve the issue as I plan on using a Wilson Combat grip module?

Can one just swap a Carry grip module on and use 17 round magazines?
What is the difference between Carry, X Carry, and Carry II?

Are ACT mags good to go?

Or just remove the slide and see if the fire control unit has the disconnector. If so, the upgrade has been performed; if it does not, then not.

Had tried that earlier in the day and kept getting an error.

Mine does not look like that.
Also tried the link posted above again and it worked and said I had not been upgraded guess I will call tomorrow to get it fixed.

The magazine baseplates are likely the older version. You can remove the baseplate and cut off the little tabs that stick up and would interfere, or you can swap baseplates - the locking plate also needs to be changed as they transitioned from a round locking nub to a square one when the baseplates were updated.

Original style grip modules have the cutout to fit the old style baseplates, X-grips and Wilson grips require the tapered tabs from the updated design or a flush baseplate.

Yes, grip modules are interchangeable and a Carry will fit the compact slide and fit 17rd magazines.

Carry is 3.9" slide and 17rd magazine

X Carry is the X-style grip module, 3.9" slide and 17rd magazine

Carry II is Wilson's grip module that has a shorter front rail and fits the 3.6" slide with 17rd magazines. It will work with the 3.9" slide, but you'll have .3" off the front, similar to using a carry module with a full length slide.

Edit:
This wilson pistol has the Carry II frame. 3 rail slots

Standard Carry has 4 rail slots and is flush with the end of the slide

Edit 2:
Here's the basepad kit from TGS. Baseplate and locking plate.

Anyone know if the Ghost baseplates work with the new grip modules?
They have the round hole but not sure exactly what tabs you are referring https://ghostinc.com/moab-sig-...he-sig-320-p250-4pk/

The description states they're not compatible with the X-series grips.

The original basepads have "wings" or tabs that fill the cutout in the bottom of grip module. The revision thinned these to fit inside the integral flared magwell of the X-grip modules. You can just cut these off and use the basepad with a flat top.

This image shows a Gen1 mag on the left, with a thick "wing" and a Gen2 baseplate on the right, with a tapered/thin "wing".

I found 3 of the Gen2 basepads I removed to switch to aftermarket. They don't have locking plates as I reused those, and these have scratches from having identifier markings removed from the previous owner, but I can send these to you if you'd like. I might have more, I converted a half dozen to GrayGuns baseplates and might have thrown some of the OEM pads away.

Here's a link to two threads I started about my early P320 with pictures that got an X-Grip Frame Module, You can get the Wilson frame to fit either the 15 or 17 round magazines, I went with what I had as the magazines seem to cost $50ea everywhere
Good Luck BTW

For the magazines, you don’t have to remove the wings entirely. I dremeled them down till they just fit and then gave it a touch more. Works fine in all the grips now.

Thanks folks for all the help!
Guess I will get me a Wilson Carry Grip so I can use 17 round mags. Won’t really need the 15 round mags so I guess I’ll just shovel them away or maybe sell them once I decide I likely won’t be going back to a compact grip.

Got it out to the range today and fired about 50 rounds.
Wow, what an absolute treat this thing is just the way it is. Though I still am going to get the Wilson Combat Carry grip so I can use the 17 round magazines that arrived today from Greg Cote.
