On the way to a doctor appointment, another orthopedic specialist the other day I get a text from a coworker. Included were three photos of a slightly neglected Hi Power around 1969-70 era, a T Series. Dirty filthy sock drawer gun, some light rusting on the slide and the frame. Two magazines, no case or rug.

Told him to put it on the side. Brought it home last night. Turned out to be a bit worse that I’d like but it’s saveable, mainly cosmetic.

Freed up the safety, Gun Scrubber, q-tips, tooth picks, brushes. Dremel to polish the barrel. Found some spray Kroil in town today, time to break out the copper penny trick. This one will probably end up 8n my carry rotation, a duty that was given to my SA-35 Browning wannabe.

Just something about a Belgian Hi Power……

I’ll try but as usual it’s difficult for me to figure it out.

Just called Browning, it’s one of those T Series that the charts do not have a year attached to the S/N. Barrel is dated third quarter 1968. Customer service said that it is between 1970-71.

And FWIW the last T Series produced carried a S/N of 364280 if that’s any help to anyone.

Interesting, Browning Customer Service said the number they gave me was the end of that series.

Researching my gun was a bit tedious. It appears that there were high serial number T-Series guns produced by FN in the early 70's for the European market that were not built with all T-Series parts; some of the very late T-Series guns were built using new production parts that were destined for the next generation C-Series guns. My late production T-Series is an example that was assembled with a C-Series hammer. I couldn't tell you what/if there are any other new production parts in my gun.

Mine has the correct T Series hammer.

Tonight I’ll try a touch of Oxpho Blue on the top of the slide on the bad spot. Safety was a bit sticky, been working it and using Kroil on it.

Stopped in at work yesterday afternoon and found a 1791 holster for it. I’ll probably pick it up this weekend and start working with it and put this in rotation with my Tac Ops, the Model 36 snub especially over the winter months.
