Nothing happened to the railed, or the SAS, version. This thread is really about the actual metal compositions of the slides and frames, and not the different shapes/forms of the guns. The railed and the SAS models are just different forms of the same gun on top. They all have the carbon steel slide and alloy frame.

I wish I could get pictures to look as crisp and clean as your shots come out.

Seeing these shows me that the, "interesting" decisions, on how they made different variations of the same model really is a Sig tradition.
