I've had a P239 since it was the GOTM many years ago in .357 sig and .40 SW barrels.
Question is; I came across a 239 9mm barrel, will it run OK in the slide with a 9mm recoil spring?

Congrats on finding the barrel. It should be fine for range fun. 124g ammo should provide plenty of recoil for cycling.

Do you know if .357 sig Mags work OK for the 9mm?
I tried loading a few rounds and seems ok?

I haven't jumped on barrel yet, just trying to cover all the bases first, seeing as sig has abandoned the 239.

I've used .40 mags to feed 9mm into a Bar-sto conversion barrel w/ no problems while also using the original .40 recoil spring.
Just swapped the barrel out only and it ran.

Basically, I've used my .40 P239 to shoot .357sig and 9mm w/ only a barrel swap.
I have .357sig and 9mm mags NIB but since the .40 mags work for all, I've not opened them as I just use the 9mm barrel for range.

The P239 .40/.357 Sig needs a conversion barrel to shoot 9mm.

The regular 9mm barrel is for a different slide.

Back in the day, Bar-sto was the go-to conversion barrel.

My P239 has been a safe queen for years.

I think I was using .357 Sig mags for 9mm.

I have 3 barrels for it, but no 9mm mags.

It shot fine.

Yes the 357SIG mags work perfectly as does the 357/40 recoil spring

Not correct

Unlike most of the P-Series firearms which have different hood/barrel dimensions for the 357/40 and the 9MM slides, the P239 does not, so Factory original 9MM barrels work perfectly in the 357/40 slides.

Now the two slides do have different profiles, however this is only cosmetic

I have two of the Factory threaded barrels for my P239s

I currently have well over 1,000 subsonic rounds through my 357 P239 wearing the threaded 9MM barrel and my SWR Trident suppressor combination

I have an additional 400+ rounds of defensive ammunition through the same pistol without the can mounted
