I was at a friend’s shop the other day and he showed me his newest toy. An FK/BRNO PSD 7.5mm. I have heard of them but, never paid much attention. Just not my cup of tea. Pretty neat round. Holy crap this thing is HUGE!!! The slide reminds me of Grandma’s 1980 Cadillac’s doors… a big hunk of steel!!!
Wouldn't matter that it would be a larger pistol. I shoot a Desert Eagle all the time and the Glock 19 is too small for me.

Ammunition for it is insanely priced. I can see it as a range conversation piece, but other than that I see another boutique round destined for obscurity.

Yeah, from what I read it is a beast of a round. But I am frugal so the cost per round just makes me say nope!

I think the whole cartridge/gun design was to be able to scrape a bear off the leg of that guy waaaaaaaay over there--- --- --->

The gun is awesome. I’ve got both the PSD and the Field Pistol.
I chronoed the Field Pistol for an average velocity of 2120 FPS and 950 ft/lbs of energy. It holds 15+1 rounds and is fairly controllable. Not to mention, it’s accurate past 150 yards.
The round itself is very destructive on target, as shown in a number of times on YouTube.
Whether it’s “practical” enough for some people or not, I’m not sure, but it’s likely the most capable semi auto pistol ever built. Period.
The PSD is cool, as it will shoot either 9mm or 40S&W as well.
I’ve been shopping one for wild boar. It definitely has a purpose, but not a range toy. Normal prices for practicing 375/416 can easily be over$5/round. Again, we don’t put that many down range.
