The Quiet Man |
I sold my USP 9 a while back. I still have a very early .40 USP Compact and a USP 45. I'll never get rid of that USP45. It's one of my favorites and I discovered that I greatly prefer it to the HK45. I also have a p2000 in 9mm that is basically a slightly more ergonomic USP Compact. Great gun. The USP triggers will never be the nicest out there, but I've always found them quite shootable. I honestly don't think I've ever had a failure with any of my USPs.

That was the year I purchased my USPc 45. It has a stainless slide and I still have it. I will always keep that one!

To me, the P2000 is a vastly underrated gun. I picked mine up on the cheap and as others have said the ergonomics are really good and it's a soft shooter. While I also have two USPc's in 9, I really do like my 45c which was my nightstand gun until I picked up my 226 Elite here on the forum.

I have had 2 a 45 and 9 Tactical. Sold them for more than I paid. Regret that decision. I’ll get a Compact some day

I don't think the P30, 45, & P2000 are ugly. ![]() Do you also find P-2XX legacy Sigs w/ Pic rails to be ugly?

100% you can add the 2022 with the non sig rail to the list as well. The HK P30 and 45 are not good lookers at all. I have never seen a P2000 with a Pic rail that was not an adapter that looks like a goiter. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. A man's got to know his limitations ![]() |
I like the USP series always have. I'm down to only 4 right now, but if I ever found a USP 9 compact with the stainless slide at the right price, I would have to get it. I am taking my USP 9 Expert that I converted to a variant 9 to the range tomorrow. Love that gun. ![]() "But, as luck would have it, he stood up. He caught that chunk of lead." I’ve been keeping an eye out for a USP9C. Leaning towards LEM but wouldn’t turn down a da/sa. ----------------------------------------- Roll Tide! Glock Certified Armorer NRA Certified Firearms Instructor

Can’t forget The Numbers Station with John Cusack. Already had similar in .357 SIG, but had to have 9mm versions in blue and stainless.

My HK 45c is LEM and I like it quite a bit over the DA/SA. I previously had a USP 40c in LEM, so I knew what I was in for.

I have a USP9 Tactical, USP40 and two tone USP45. All of them have been absolutely reliable since day one of ownership. Certainly one of the best overall pistol designs in my opinion.

Just picked up a USP45 full size to replace an HK45 that I didn't care for. It joins its stablemates, 9c(2), 40c & 9 fullsize. In my opinion, nothing to dislike about the USP series, definitely built for the long haul. c4

The Great Equalizer![]() |
Even though this is the SIGforum, I have been a fan of the USP line since their introduction back in the 90s Both my USPf9 and USPf45 were purchased the first week they came out. Both firearms are serial numbered in the low 600s and yes I still own both ![]() Since then I have added several others. the bottom 2 pistols are my USPc45 and my USPc357. I love the combination of the 357SIG cartridge and the HK USP pistol I love shooting my full size Coyote Tactical. It is very quite ![]() I even added a USPct 45 for something smaller ![]() ![]() But then I shot a USP ELITE. What a great shooter absolutely fantastic ![]() So this experience prompted me to go looking for a USP EXPERT ![]() And while I certainly did not need it when I came across one of the gray framed USPs I just had to add it because it was different ![]() I doubt that there is anyone in this group who was unaware, but the full size USP pistols chambered for 45ACP are also capable of chambering and safely firing the much more powerful 45 SUPER cartridge. No changes to the firearm are necessary other than loading up the firearm with the different ammunition Somewhere along the line I need to add a USP MATCH to the family and I need to do a conversion to create a 10MM USP ------------------------------------------------------------------ NRA Benefactor . . . I acquired a CC dated USP9 about a year and a half to two years ago that had a GG&G accessory rail, trigger work and a .40 slide and barrel combo with it. I thought it was really nice and enjoyed it well enough. A couple of months ago, I sent it to Wright Armory for the iDot conversion and I have to say since getting it back, a dot (Acro P2) added to that platform is a game changer for me, personally. This set up, with an HK Parts 20 rd magazine has really grown on me. To the previously made points, a factory cut slide and modern rail would really breathe life into this platform.

M first is a .40 USP compact, I now have a UPS .45 tactical, a MK23 and a P30L. I had a HK45c for a while, but I prefer the USP. I dont have much use for the .40 these days, but a couple years ago I had it milled for an RMRcc. _______________________________________ Do you only play? Or can you shoot too?

I was just thinking exactly the same thing. Have owned 3 of them in the past and have no idea why I let any of them go, except that I'm an absolute idiot! Have been watching the "used guns" case at my favorite LGS for a while now looking for another one... this time to KEEP. ____________________________ Bill R. My cousin bought a USP in 45 years ago. I felt like I was trying to grip a walnut tree. Nice gun but my paws are just too small for that.
