Only one .45? It would be my Novak Colt Commander. It was my dream gun for many years and has a ton of nostalgia for me.

Nostalgia aside, USP .45 without a doubt. Soft shooter that is amazingly accurate for a non-custom. Has never had a hiccup and I'm sure could withstand a nuclear blast.

For ME:
DA/SA=Sig 9mm or HK P30 LEM 9
Striker fired= Glock 9mm
If it's a .45= 1911
Suppressed= HK in .45
I like anything in 10mm

MARZ- I am a sucker for any case hardened gun!
That is a beautiful .45!
(I don't know about those grips, I'd have to switch those out)

If I had to choose between a P220 and 1911, I suppose I would have a Wilson Combat 1911.

I have a few SIGs.

Sig P220 Combat. The P220 was the first handgun I ever picked up in a gun store. It felt perfect in my hand but a little big. I ended up taking home a P229. My next gun was the P220 and years later the 220 combat.

My P220 Stainless is the best shooting 45 I've owned and I've owned a few. I don't have any pictures of it right now but I have a picture of my SA GI model that's a pretty good shooter when you can see the sights. Ah, who needs sights with a 45 just point it the general direction. Big Grin

I've had a lot of .45s over the years but my favorite platform remains the 1911. If I could only have one it would be a Commander size 1911.

I currently have three .45s.

A mid size S&W M&P with Apex DCAEK kit. Carried it as a duty gun until I retired.

A S&W 1911. One of the early ones.

A P320 .45 in an X10 grip module. I have a FS slide assembly and a stainless compact slide assembly for it.

If I may ask, why one of the early S&W 1911's ? I own one and am curious as to why you like it.

Well, it wasn't an early one when I bought it. I've probably had it near 20 years. I liked the looks. It's always been a reliable and accurate gun.

My original post did not appear in full. The actual question was… If you could only have one style.45, what would it be? 1911, hammer fired or striker fired? I know 1911s are hammer fired but they are a style of their own. I only have a 1911 but will get a HK .45 very soon. If I had only o

Being a lifelong instructor and own, or have owned and have shot just about every brand and model .45 ever made. Other than the AMT hardballer I'd own any of them again.

But to have only one? A Sig P220ST. A close second would be a S&W 645... the 645 will literally feed ANYTHING, even empty brass cases.

If it were for concealed carry I would choose an HK 45C in LEM.
