My one and only .45 is a Colt government Model 70 I bought new in 1981. I figure if I only have one it might as well be the most iconic.

My one and only .45ACP left is a 1911, a Colt Gold Cup National Match.

I only have one .45 and it's a Kimber Warrior that I like a whole lot.

I wish it was an H&K MK23 tho!

My H&K USP .45 Compact that I stupidly sold 25 or so years ago. Dumbest decision to sell ever. Sigh.

I still have mine. It has the stainless slide. It's a keeper. I've had it for a few months short of 25 years.

I would have to go with my Ed Brown...

1911 for me. I've tried to love other 45s. Closest I ever came was a 220 but I just love my 1911s.

I have owned 1911s in the past, and wasn't really planning on adding a .45, but a local shop had an HK45 with olive drab factory frame and it had the factory threaded barrel. Slide is currently at a local place getting a front night sight installed, but I had a chance to take it out before that to test out with my Dead Air Ghost M. It was wonderful. I wish it held 2-3 more rounds for its size, but it's a very smooth shooting pistol and accurate. Shooting it suppressed is great, too. .45 ACP is a fantastic caliber to shoot suppressed.

If I could only keep one of mine, it would be my Wilson. My USP comes in a close second and would be my choice if I knew I was going somewhere a gunfight is likely and had to carry only a handgun. It's not as sexy as the Wilson, but it's nigh indestructible.

My Series 70 Colt Gold Cup that I bought in 1978 (from a guy who needed cash to buy a Perazzi trap gun).

Looks like a lot of us really like our 1911s. I have a Colt classic government model. No frills or alterations. I have never shot a higher end 1911. Some beauties appeared in this thread. I’m frugal by nature but don’t like cheap tools, guns or other hobby equipment. I’m not sure I could buy a pistol over $1200 though. I’m not sure why I draw the line there but that Ed Brown and some Les Baer models sure are nice. Stop posting pics of those as they are tempting me

I have owned my USPc .45 and the above is exactly what I did with it, sent it to HK to install low lb LEM and keep the safety, very pleased with the results.

Tough choice...
I have a few .45's and have always been a fan of the .45 Cal.
G-21, G-30, a few 1911's.

However, if I can only have one: I have a custom made MEUSOC M45 put together by one of the Precision Weapons Shop Armorers. Novak sights, Ed Brown Barrel, Guide rod & Spring. The only difference between mine and an actual M45 is mine is built on a Springfield stainless slide and frame. Damn thing is a tact driver! It also has a nostalgic value to me; my buddy from the Marines was an armorer at PWS in Quantico, he's the one that put it together. "Ike" later went to Springfield as one of their armorers.

I've owned a half dozen Colts over the years, two Ruger 1911s, and a Remington-Rand 1911a1...but the best of them all, in all regards, has been my Sig 1911 RCS.

Here are the specs of this discontinued model: match barrel, melted edges for CC use, match trigger, checkered fore and aft frame, functional (not over done) beavertail, beveled mag well, 7 round mag capacity, alloy frame with SS bbl and slide, nitrided innards, tritium night sights...

About all the goodies you'd want for real world CC use, without race gun or mall ninja price hiking doodads; all in a package that's 100% reliable.

It's my big bore carry piece. BTW, I've got a Sig .22 LR upper unit for it that's nearly as accurate as my Smith M-41. Best regards, Rod

Hmm, P220ST or P220Compact SAS.

So, yea, the Sig P220 for sure. BOTH of them.

I've got two, both of which generally fly under the radar.

1. Smith & Wesson PC 945 - Don't think they are still made, but it's very similar to a 1911. Built like tanks. Super accurate. Excellent trigger.

2. RRA (Rock River Arms) 1911. That's right RRA, which is normally associated with AR's also makes, or used to make, 1911's. Honestly, every bit as nice as an Ed Brown, Wilson Combat, Les Baer, etc. Among the most accurate non-custom 1911's you can buy and generally a good value if you buy used (and you can find one).
