If you could only have 1 .45
For me, it would be a Star Megastar or a 1911. If one is in .45 Auto, the other is in 10mm.

For these scenarios, I always think about how I could maintain some variety. While I like the .45 Auto offerings from my usual SIG, HK, and Glock, I usually prefer those pistols in other calibers.

I've owned several .45's over the years, mostly 1911s but including a G21 briefly. My favorite was a DW VBob (bob-tailed Commander length). My only issue with it was the steel frame which made it uncomfortable to carry all day. I sold it a few years ago to fund something else. I've since replaced it with a DW Guardian, essentially the same gun only with an alloy frame and a different rear sight. It would definitely be my only .45. The G21 is a great gun, just too big for my undersized hands.

I wish I could get back the Colt Mk4/Series 70 Government .45 ACP stolen from me some 30 years ago. It's the only .45ACP I ever really liked and shot well, with a couple mods to make it fit and work for me.

It also had the collet-style bushing that made it unbelievably accurate.

Once at a gun show, I held a P-220, but didn't like it enough to buy it. I also owned a couple Colt Commander-style .45's but couldn't shoot them as well as the full-sized.

Yeah, that would be enough for me.

My .45's include.

Sig P220
Ruger P90
Glock 30
Ruger Redhawk 45LC/45ACP (uses moon clips for ACP)
SA Garrison 1911 Stainless
S&W 457
Tisas US Army 1911
Tisas Duty 1911
Tisas Raider 1911

Out of those I'd probably go with the SA Garrison 1911, as it is the most fun to shoot.

That's a tough one but I only have one at the moment, which is the HK MK23. I have had a couple 1911 pistols but oddly enough, I just couldn't warm up to the platform. Not that there is anything wrong with them, I just don't feel comfortable with one as much as I do a striker fired or da/sa pistol.

I really want to get a Sig P220 for one reason or another, as I have always wanted one but never really got a full size model of one.

I’d opt for a Sig P220ST with the older proprietary rail. Maybe in the future, it’ll be a 1911, but for now, those are my favorite.

I own several, but I like my Gen 4 G21 the best of the bunch.

I do have a lightly used M&P 2.0 .45 in layaway because the grip is absolutely perfect and for the price, I couldn't pass it up. I've shot a few and really like the M&P in .45.

In .45 I have:

Star Firestar
Kimber Aegis Elite Custom (Government)
Dan Wesson Vigil (CCO)
Dan Wesson ECP (4 in Bull, Commander frame)

The ECP would get the nod.

easy answer for me, my Sig P220 stainless. I have had it for 20 years and carried it for most of that time.

I have a German P220 and an older Colt Commander, alloy frame. I'm a Sig guy for the most part but I still prefer the 1911.
