I'm needing to get a P229 Slide milled, and was wondering if anyone here has used these guys? https://www.pwmachining.com/

They seem to be relatively new, as I don't remember them being around when I got my P226 slide done a couple of years ago. They seem heavy into social media (which does me no good because I'm not on any of those platforms) and search engine result optimization, but when I tried contacting them through the form on their website I got no response, which is kind of concerning. Pricing looks good, and it appears they offer what I want...I just want to be sure they're legit.

I'd just go with Parker Mountain Machine again, because I was really happy with their work on my P226, but they stopped offering the service so I have to find somebody else .

Well I emailed him direct today and got a very quick and informative response. He answered all my questions and seems like a good dude who knows his stuff. I'm gonna go ahead and send him my slide once I get the optic. I'll report back and let you guys know how it goes.

I plan to reach out tomorrow about milling a S&W M&P 1.0 slide for a Holosun.

Which optic are you going with, 92fstech?

This one's getting a RomeoX Compact. Just the basic one with the 3 moa red dot. I considered enclosed, but couldn't really justify the cost. And Brad (DaBigBR) was able to order it for me which was the main selling point because he's always got the best prices, is easy to work with, and you know you're not getting some counterfeit knockoff.

I almost went with another 407K like I did for my P226 because the price is right and I've been happy with my other one, or an EPS because it's enclosed and I wanted to try it, but since this is a carry gun I want a clear cowitness with the backup irons, and the extremely low deck height of the RomeoX will give me that with the standard-height night sights that are already on the gun. Less snaggy, and it saves me the roughly $100 it would cost to replace them with taller sights.

Speaking of taller sights, I recently decided that my P320 competition gun needed backup irons. It's not a carry gun so I didn't really see the need to put night sights on it...I just wanted some basic irons in case my dot dies mid-stage. Sig doesn't make such a thing, and I've not been a huge fan of the Dawsons I've tried in the past. Turns out, FN uses the same size dovetail as Sig for their 509 series, so I bought these off of MGW and saved almost $50 over the X-Ray3s I was looking at https://www.midwestgunworks.co...ISCSnCo4Lu-c5aTK6hQT .

I really like them...zero is perfect at 15 yards, they're very well made with a nice factory look and profile, and provide a clean sight picture.

Slide and optic went out this morning. Will update with a review when I get it back.

Sent my old P229 slide to be milled & cerakoted in mid-May & the owner was responsive to say it could be done but I didn’t ask how long it would take. A month later I asked if it could be done in the next couple weeks since I had a mandatory requal scheduled. Was told it would be done the following week & shipped back the following day. I waited a week, tried to leave a phone message but it wasn’t taking any so sent another email but no response for 7-10 days. Received a response from Pinewood said ‘hoped’ to get it done ‘early’ the next week. Followed up with another email a week & 2 days ago & told ‘working on it now’, & cerakote to follow. The guy seems righteous but must have way too much work. ‘Hoping’ to be told it’s on its way in the next day or two, if not, further action will be necessary. I’ll follow-up when I get my slide back. If you decide to use him I’d recommend asking up front when he will be able to work on your gun.

Received my completed slide today. The milling for installation of a red dot sight and then a cerakote of the slide seemed to be excellent work. I would recommend this gentleman for the quality of work but as indicated previously, don’t make my mistake by not asking for a projected time that he will be able to get to your request.
