Has anyone own or seen and handle in person the new S&W Bodyguard 380 2.0 ??? Looks like a challenger to the Ruger LCP Max. God Bless

Have seen lots of YouTube vids on it from the usual suspects. All seem to speak highly of it. Last time I looked (couple of days or so ago) they weren’t in stock yet at the distributors.

My wife picked one up at Academy the other day. It is very nice and feels great in the hand.We had to order it through them but it only took 2 days to come in.We haven't gone to the range yet with it but it is about the same size as my Glock 42 but with higher capacity and a much better ergonomic grip. You get a higher purchase on the Bodyguard but shooting it will be the tell all. We will hopefully get to the range in a week or two, as the wife just had knee surgery a month ago and has a hard time standing for any length of time.

We had the original Bodyguard a while back but accuracy suffered due to the heavy trigger pull on it. It was nice and compact but if you can't shoot it well, it was no point in keeping it.

Now the biggest thing is getting extra mags and a holster. Not sure how long it is going to be before they come out. There are only 2 holster makers for it now but I am sure more will come along soon.

I’ll probably end up getting one. I like 380 pistols. Own five. Bodyguard, TCP, LC 380, 365-380, Lcp Max.

As for holsters I imagine a Mika’s pocket holster for the Lcp Max will fit. Almost the same size.

I have 9mms that fit most but not all pants pocket, BG2 looks like a replacement for P32.

It looks like a shrunken down version of the 9mm or .380 EZ model.

I’d like to see a .22 LR version.

Had one for a week. Mine came with one 10 round mag as I am in a restricted state. Put 120 rounds thru it. 100 WWB fmj, and 25 Hornsby xtp's.
It was light, accurate, easy to shoot and it had no malfunctions. I actually got rid of it because my 632 ultra carry fills the role (pocket carry) with a little less capacity but a little more in the power factor.
If you are a fan of .380, and especially pocket carry .380's I think it has it over the glock 42 and LCP max both of which I had.

I held one the other day at my LGS and was really impressed with how it just nestled down in the hand and pointed really well. I like my Glock 42’s a lot and thought at first the BG 2.0 was taller as the grip feels longer, but the overall height is nearly identical so pocket carry should feel very similar, maybe even better with the BG 2.0 because the rest of the dimensions are actually better than the Glock +4 more rounds with the flush mag.

I will let others beta test it, but then after it’s been out a few months to a year, I’ll probably pick one up. The entire M & P line’s ergonomics are just so fantastic.

I rarely buy the first run of anything, but I figured for $399 I couldn't get hurt too bad on this one. The wife carries a Ruger LCP Max but never really liked it as it shocked her hands quite a bit. This solves her problems basically while keeping the package tiny and the capacity high. Went to the range for first time with it yesterday and it's a good shooter! Had some hiccups going into battery in the first magazine but I'll attribute it to break in. After about 200 rounds it was singing along nicely. Had two light primer strikes on Academy Monarch brass but they all went being reloaded and struck again. I was actually able to make some 20 yard shots, something I was not able to do with the LCP Max.

Having said all that I'd like to get 500 rounds through it before I put it in the rotation because even though I didn't love the LCP Max as a shooter it was 1000% reliable with any ammo.

None of the local stores that I called here in the Virginia Beach, Virginia area had any of the new S&W Bodyguard 2.0 in stock. I called Greentop in Richmond, Virginia about 1.5 hours away and the person I spoke with said that they have 14 with the safety and 14 without the safety both for the same price of $399. I might have to make a trip up there this Saturday God Bless !!!

I did handle one and was surprised at how small it is.

Not sure why, but I paid full price and got one. Those Smith guys are mathemagicians, I tell ya. Not sure how, but they've taken all of the unpleasant mouse gun snap out of this mouse gun. You have to shoot one to actually believe it.
The only downside to mine is an extremely stiff extractor. It's breaking in, but it was definitely not gtg for carry brand new.
All in all, I'd say it's a winner.

Shot one last week. Soft, really great trigger, but shoots a shade left.

Great competition for the Glock 42.

Regular customer had one shipped in yesterday. I got to hold it and try the trigger. Definitely a step up from the original bodyguard. It's about the size of my P365, only thinner.

Bought one today, and plan to replace my LCP Max with this one (pending shooting the heck out of it tomorrow-but I have high hopes). It's smaller than my Hellcat, and much thinner, but the long grip makes it appear a bit larger than it is. The grip is one of the most comfortable I've seen and with the 12 round mag it simply seems perfect to me. Mags are kinda expensive, but I ordered two more.

This might be the small back up gun I have been searching for. I've tried a LOT of small ones over the years, but this one simply feels right. We'll see when I shoot it.

I haven't bought a Smith in many, many years-hope this buy is the right one.
