I’m thinking of upgrading from a TSO for my USPSA gun but want to stay with CZ feel. These versions are super rare though the many 9mm versions seem to be available. I’m hoping the .40 will become more common. https://czcustom.com/czc-a01-p...ld-ltd-sa-40s-w.htmlThis message has been edited. The Limited is very rare, regardless of the caliber. I have one in 9mm. The standard A01-LD is readily available online. Maybe you're thinking of that. I don't think the chrome is available any longer. They were using Tripp, who no longer does it and they're having trouble finding a replacement. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Also, FYI, these are not CZ pistols. They use forged frames and are built entirely at CZ Custom. They aren't CZ pistols that CZ Custom modifies. CZ frames are all cast. The A01 line is CZ Custom's own creation and built in America. CZ Custom enhances many CZ pistols as well. They are not a part of the CZ company. Very common misconception. Anyway, the A01 is awesome and definitely higher quality than anything built by CZ. ![]()

The fit and finish on that pistol looks beautiful and I bet the weight helps with recoil...I used to think my Shadow 2 was a nice gun, but....damn! What's the triggee pull weight? Thank you President Trump.

Glad you like it. I also have a Shadow 2 Orange and a Shadow 2 SA. Both are nice pistols. As nice as they are, the A01 is a step above in my opinion. Higher quality and attention to detail. Trigger weight is 2 pounds.

I am aware of the CZ vs CZ Custom. How is the trigger on the Limited? The stock TSO was too light of pull and reset for me. I put an Apex Tactical Hammer and Sear in and doubled up the trigger springs. I’m at just under 4lbs pull weight and it is much easier for me to prep trigger with a more positive reset. However the A01-LD doesn’t seem to be offered in SAO or in .40 in any version except the Limited. I had read somewhere that barrels were hard for them to get but can’t find that info again. I’m thinking based on pictures and talking with folks that a DA/SA version can be be made SAO in a similar manner as the regular CZ line. The type of finish isn’t a deciding factor, though something a little better than a factory CZ finish would be nice. This gun would be for USPSA Limited division so it needs be in .40 S&W and preferably SAO or at least able to made into SAO. Do not send me to a heaven where there are no dogs. You should probably contact CZ Custom and see what can be done for your exact needs. I suspect that they can make a A01-LD in exactly the configuration that you desire. Remember, it's only money... ![]() -MG

The standard black finish CZ Custom uses for their A01 feels a lot nicer than the black finish CZ uses. But they will also do different Cerakote colors for you and it wouldn't be as much as the hard chrome was. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
