There's no need for the amateurish reverse psychology bullshit. You think you've hit so hard, but the truth is you betrayed your weakness when you posted all those pics of your precious collection. Not a good look for you.

You think I'm going to ban you. I'm not. You can go away if you like, I don't particularly care. You're not anywhere near as important as you think you are.

People are laughing at me? Because I called you on your obstinance and for following the crowd of those misusing a term? Sure, you bet.

Let me tell you something- after a quarter of a century of running this and other forums, there's not a name I haven't been called, nor an insult that hasn't been hurled at me. I've survived it all and I have a very good idea of how I'm perceived, and there is very little I would change about how I arrived at this place.

Nice try, but I don't "follow (you) around" here. You just keep coming up in my daily reading. You need to just get over yourself and realize that you're disrespectful to someone who provides a venue you that you seem to like. Take a look in the mirror before you accuse me of anything.

Sad that your life is so empty that you need to trail me like a little puppy dog, jumping at my beck and call in a feeble attempt to discredit anything I say. You’re so pathetically predictable. Outside your little world of minions, you don’t add up to jack shit. I post what I post and have been for a long time. I’ve fielded countless PM’s over the years, giving people all kinds of advice, helping them with their purchases, etc. I’m not changing that for anyone, least of all your sorry ass who hasn’t come close to doing that. I’ve got more forum followers than you could achieve in three lifetimes.

You built a forum and I built a business that employees hundreds of good people. You do what you do and I do the same. PERIOD.

The term “flat shooting” is used CONSTANTLY in the way I’m telling you it is. You want to continue being an ignoramus, go for it. People are laughing at you.

Michael Zeleny is a friend of mine and we have done much business together. He’s not missing anything here and he’s far too sophisticated to tolerate your vulgar, primitive BS. I should have taken his advice years ago. Now I will. It’s been real.

I’m sure your astronomical ego won’t allow you to leave this post up and that’s ok. At least you’ll read it. By the way, your software is in the Stone Age. Do yourself a favor and upgrade.

Your entitled and elitist attitude is astounding and absurd.

To go into someone's house and just mouth off like you own the place.
Even more so after being asked/told to behave yourself.

BTW, it isn't Para we are laughing at.

Good luck to you Sir..

bac retains posting rights if he wants to pummel me with his Wiffle bat again. It's comical to hear someone like that accuse anyone else of having a big ego, especially when he talks about someone being "far too sophisticated to tolerate your vulgar, primitive BS". My, oh my Big Grin ooof! Break out the fine china and ceegars. Razz

Regarding the forum software- yeah, our host keeps trying to get me to move to a new platform, so, just so you'll know- this place is as it is out of choice. My choice. We are as we are because we choose to be as we are, and anyone who doesn't like it, well, there's the door.

Any chance the pissing and measuring contests can go to PM and leave the regular discussion to the rest of us?

Despite the interpersonal relationship issues, I've learned a lot about different gun options- some of which I had never heard of before.

When I started the thread I had limited the question to the last 30 years as I thought I had a decent grasp on 9mm options before the mid 1990s.

My original post deliberately didn't mention something critical to me obtaining any new [to me] firearm: I live in California.

This means I can't buy any semi-auto handgun that is not on the CA list of Olympic handguns, is not a C&R [pre 1974 to be safe] and is not on the Roster of handguns approved for sale.

Most of these suggestions weren't on the list- but I really wish they were!

Those made before 1974, well- I have a good grasp on those options as well and have a few of the 'classics': P08 [luger- from Mauser factory] from 1939, P38 [from same Mauser factory] from 1943, Star Model B from 1945 and BHP from 1957-8 [Austrian contract].

Thanks for the interesting ideas, and the mouth-watering pictures!

Sigs and Non-Sigs: I enjoy having options!

You're asking for the forum owner to get out of the thread? That's a genuine first.

"pissing and measuring contests"?

I don’t mean to veer the thread off-topic (nor do I have anything personal against bac1023), but I hope the forum software remains the way it is for as long as possible. It’s not modern, but it’s stable, lightweight, and highly efficient. Any device can open this forum and blaze through it. It’s a callback to the days where the internet was a trove of useful, easy-to-access information rather than the layered, bloated, ad-filled, hardware-taxing nightmare we have today.

There are certain websites where I can’t even buy a shirt without my computer and smartphone (both new and high-end by the way) slowing down, glitching out, and heating like an oven.

I’m partial to a few Star and Astra models from the 1990s. The Firestar (Star) and A-100 (Astra) come to mind.

There's a good one that hasn't been mentioned yet, as far as I've seen: Stealth Arms Platypus. Basically a 2011 that takes Glock 17 magazines. It's actually the one on my short list as far as the "budget end" of the spectrum of 2011's or open type guns.

And I'm with MacGyver, the forum software is old, yes, but it is also blissfully free of the bloat and crap that started when everyone started switching to VBulletin back in the day.

Yes, the prima donna can't see the forest for the trees. 99.99999% uptime, and screaming fast response times. You come here and the forum is up. You click on any forum room and any thread and you're there at light-speed. To me, that's what's important.

I stopped looking at this sanctimonious prick's handgun threads after awhile, with his "look at me, no hands" attitude. And this thread is a prime example of his smug, pompous thinking, chock full of it that shit. And here's some news- " I just bought the only XXXX handgun made in the world" is not impressive, but a conceited shout out to us unwashed masses "only for me, not for you".

And as far as us "minions", at least we exhibit a little bit of manners and humility instead of shoving bullshit in the faces of said "minions".

No, asking the parts that aren't productive or contributing be left out, not anything to do with specific individuals. Frankly don't pay too much attention to who is saying and mainly to what is said; the what is the educational and informative part. And I'm here as I find this (usually) one of the most educational and informative forums on SIG. Just hoping to get back to that.

This is a particularly bad example of a trend on the www.
We started out with Discussion boards which developed in to Debate and Argument boards. Now we have Quarrel boards which is taking the fun out of it. For example, I have been severely criticized ad hominem for not expressing unalloyed admiration for gunsmithing projects. Phooey, to quote Nero Wolfe.

Jim, I hear you, but I fight the fight where it appears and tend to problems where they exist. You should acknowledge, though, that this kind of thing is rare in this forum.

You should also know that I value your presence in this forum.

Thank you.

If you look to the right of each post, you'll see a link that says "Hide Post". When you're on a page you find cluttered with distractions, you can click that link on a post and that post will disappear. This is temporary. If you refresh the page or return to it later, any posts you've hidden will reappear, but this should help you when you're trying to focus

Apologies to the OP and those wanting to enjoy this thread. I know I shouldn’t allow online things to irritate me but there’s something about this whole situation that does. Immature on my part to an extent. OP I hope you find what you’re looking for, even if it’s not a DWX compact Big Grin

I really enjoy the 228 as well as the 225 Sig. Both classic pistols that would serve you well.

You seem to have missed an entire segment of the gun world that meet your criteria of metal frame, hammer fired. I present:

And I don't own a 986 or there would be a picture of one of those too. Discrimination is a terrible thing. LOL

Adios,
