I was thinking good old wheel guns myself but was trying to stay on topic/what was asked.
Since that cat is out of the bag though, OP might want to look into some of the wheelies. They are great fun.

Ah, revolvers. This is the part pf the thread where would get photos of the hyper-exclusive Volkov-Smirnov 9mm revolver, in all available barrel lengths, 17,000 dollars per example. Blood test, pap smear and submission of family coat of arms required before being allowed to purchase.
Only six exist and you don't have any.
I guess we won't be getting that now. Pity

You mean you don’t carry, as a back up gun of course, a $5k Korth. AKA, the finest handgun ever made.

While I admit I didn’t initially think of it, I don’t think it’s that far off topic considering the semiauto recommendations. I am thoroughly enjoying the little Wiley Clapp Ruger. Didn’t they make a 9mm SP101?

There were indeed 9mm SP101s.

And the Speed Six and Service Six. Briefly in the S&W Model 10 with an oddball extractor system.

I own five of those six pistols amd I don't need the Taurus because I have a Beretta. My P239 comes to mind, and I have a S&W 9mm wheel gun.

I am a fan of metal framed handguns. I was trying to figure out what quality 9mm handguns use metal frames and hammers, and have manufacturing dates of less than 30 years old.
So far I've come up with this list:
Browning HP
1911 [all makes and sizes]
Sig P226/P229 series
Beretta 92 series
Taurus PT92/99 [some may argue about this and quality.]
CZ75 series, including SP01/tactical/shadow/other variants.
Is there something else I've missed?
Please don't reference WW II handguns or items from the 1950s. I am deliberately excluding those at this time. I've already thought of some like the P08 Luger, Walther P38, Star Model B/B Super, S&W Model 39/59. But I am trying to think of more modern designs.

How about Jericho 941 in all steel?
Some are available new on the net.
I have a 941RS that is only a year or two old, its a solid shooter and takes the same magazines as EAA Witness SF, Mec-gar, etc.
EAA Witness in all steel, compact or full size are really good guns and usually have fair prices (CZ75 Clone).
IFG is now the importer for the Witness, I have a friend who bought a IFG Defiant (new name, same gun) months ago when it was something like $399 for an all steel one and it is a very nice gun.
CZ 75 are great and all steel.
Also CZ75 Compact or CZ 75 PCR (Police Czech Republic) are compact models and seem like people like them as hammer fired all metal guns.
I'd even look into the discontinued CZ 2075 RAMI
I have had experience with my nephews CZ 75 Omega that is recent production.
CZ's are good guns and have a healthy aftermarket for magazines, grips/triggers etc.
I also have owned every SIG P2XX model and I would go beyond just the P226/P229 to include any P220 9mm, P224, P225, P225A1, P228, P229, P229-1, P239 - all as excellent 9mm hammer-fired metal guns.

I added my Sig P938 Legion, which produces one-inch groups at 7 yds all day long...This message has been edited. Last edited by: sonnydaze,

Technically, “handgun” is a coverall term for pistols and revolvers. The examples that OP gave were what implied he meant pistols only.
