From what I read on a Lipsey post, the slide and trigger modifications in the V models will not allow the use of the Glock Performance Trigger.
There are plenty of existing models available but it will be interesting to see what these changes entail.
Also of interest is how this will impact the prices on current models. Is this the S&W revolver lock that makes older models worth more?

MacGyverThe strangest thing I read online is that this new “V” lineup is going to be exclusive to the US market. If true, this will probably be what kills sales. It’d be different if Glock was doing a fresh new design worldwide because that would make it easier to see the new trigger system’s incompatibility with existing switches more as a natural tradeoff of a redesign that was thorough for other reasons. I think people would eventually get over it. But if it’s exclusive to the US, it’ll be a repeat of those horrendous AWB-mandated rifle mods.

Those idiots at Glock will destroy the pistol with this new design. I mean, really, they’ve only been making polymer framed, striker fired pistols for 43 years.
Funny how everyone forgot that Glock redesigned their extractor to act as a loaded chamber indicator.

BeanheadI just don't understand why the gun manufacturers just don't band together and do what Barrett did.
After California banned .50 cal, they simply return all rifles in their repair shops back to the LE agency and said...nope, not today.
You pass these insane laws that make our product illegal or banned, we will cease to provide your state/county/local pd with the guns/services you need. In fact, we will just revoke all warranty work.

Because Glock owns the Global LE market, it'd be foolish at best to endanger that with some sort of stunt.

JupiterI don't believe it will be too long before Ruger and other companies that make Glock clones will follow suit or stop production altogether for liability reasons.

Most manufacturers make efforts to prevent easy modification to full auto. AR's need extra machining, HK's need a lot of mods, and so on.
If I was making a gun that idiots could easily make FA with a $10 part, I would also change the design to prevent this.

All I've seen from Glock directly is that they are effectively discontinuing the Gen 3 and 4 lines and the MOS version of the Gen 5 17 (which is effectively replaced by the 47). Low sellers like the 22 and 27 are also gone.
Gen 3 was only being kept alive for California, and that is no longer an issue, so why keep building them? Streamline production into one model line.
The Gen 5 (Gen V) also have redesigned slides and triggers, just like the rumor suggests.
I'm seriously wondering if this whole thing didn't start as an online company trying to stir up a panic and clean out some inventory.

This is sort of the crux of my complaint. So what if a gun is easy to turn into a machine gun? Why do we treat machine guns like they are some sort of Star Trek Doomsday Machine? I know it’s the liberals and the media that foist this BS narrative, but darn it we should be fighting it. It’s easy to buy galvanized pipe and gun powder and make a pipe bomb so does that mean we should make fence posts difficult to thread for end caps? It’s easy to get loaded and drive a car and hurt or kill others, but are ignition interlocks mandatory for every vehicle in the United States? With 3D printing and other emerging manufacturing technologies it’s getting easier and easier to make damn near anything, even things that aren’t legal. I was really hoping that Glock would take a stand against this incrementalism, and that is at the core of my dissatisfaction with their choice in this regard.

copaupThat image isn't pulling up, but the only thing on Glock's site or that I can find attributed directly to Glock are the Gen 3, Gen 4, and a small number of Gen 5 guns (G17 MOS, 22, 27). Effectively they deleted 35 SKUs that are either slow moving or already replaced by a newer generation and superfluous.
I do find A LOT of sites claiming to have heard otherwise, but they all seem to refer back to the same rumor from Glockstore. Glockstore is NOT Glock and even in their initial post stated they did not know if the information was confirmed.
