Dang, and I just traded in my gold teeth caps for a vintage 8 track boom box. Gonna have to sit this one out.

LOL true. Maybe they'll offer the slides in custom colors too?

They are working on a set of curb feelers and fuzzy dice for it as well. I think it will go along in a special works package with Phil Strader autographed challenge coin.

IMO, this is by far the best looking comped XL I've seen. It's not for me, but credit to Sig for responding to the market.

$1,099 locally.

Don't ya just love it. Everybody goes to strikers because they are less expensive to manufacture. Then, in this case, they pimp it up to the price point of the "over-the-hill" classic metal P-series. The marketing mind at work is a marvelous thing to behold... Roll Eyes

Sigh. Yet they'll sell me this, but I can't get a P320 in 10mm or .45.

I get it, Sig made a bunch of money on the P365 and they're trying to wrong everything out of it that they can. But IMO the only thing it has going for it was it's capacity for it's size. The LOP is too short for my hands, and this is not corrected by making the grip longer, or adding an inch to the slide. It works for other people, and that's great, but I can't get excited about the continuous outpouring of new P365 variants from Sig while they ignore development on the platforms that I actually want like the P22x line and the P320.

And whoever came up with the gold plating idea needs to be pistol-whipped with that thing.

It frustrates me because Sig clearly has the capacity and capability to make good stuff, but these days it's all about cheap Chinese optics, slides with fancy holes milled in them, and gold plating.

It's just Cohen continuing his tradition of churning out gimmicks, that's all. But, to be fair, folks throw their money on Gucci Glocks, so, why not SIG pimping out their precious, right? I personally don't care for any pimped out plastic. They are worse than tacky, as far as I'm concerned.

Agreed. Funny that you mention it, actually...was listening to a podcast last night where Daryl Bolke was talking about Gucci Glocks and how they'll go off at a brush of the trigger. He followed up with "It'll go off if you drop it, too, but we won't worry about that!" Big Grin.

Personally, I have no use for a $2000 version of a $500 gun that works less reliably than the basic $500 variant...especially if it's got gold plating and looks like something a pimp would be waving around.

Well, I'm gonna be charitable and hope this is Cohen's way of testing the market waters for factory compensator-equipped slides.

Come to think of it (glances at P226ST in 357SIG), that might work pretty well with the P22X, wouldn't it?

Yep, I agree...the compensator is the only thing about this that is interesting. But they're going to have to start producing guns in something other than 9mm again if they really want to get the most out of it. A P226ST SAO with a factory comp in .357 Sig would be a sweet range gun! I still have no interest in putting one on a sub-compact carry gun chambered in 9mm, though.

ETA: Here is an example of why I don't want porting (or even a comp) on a carry gun...that muzzle blast will make you flinch and shut your eyes when you're driving down the road taking pot shots at people from the driver's seat of your car Eek! Seriously, though...that's a lot of flash!

Fun? Yes. But I'd much rather have to look at the Kel-Tec than this pimptastic piece o plastic with an ingrown barrel.

I wonder why they left out the pimpolicious custom shop FCU?

^^ That isn't how they got the gold trigger?

92fstech, I may just pick up a copy of the original ported SAS if I happen to find a steal on one, but it'd be as a memento of something silly that happened in gun development a long time ago.

I agree with the above, the comp doesn’t look like it would be very effective. It’s an awful lot of open space that won’t be directed. It’s like it’s all show. (not surprising)

Hoppes won’t bother that gold (TiN actually). I have to grudgingly admit to owning a couple of “gold” 365 trigger guns. They weren’t making the combo I wanted at the time so I bought a couple of the standalone fcu’s that Sig sells under the custom shop banner. There is nothing custom about them except perhaps the coating but they don’t sell a blackened version so I bought them. Made my 365’s exactly how I wanted them (minus the color).

I owned a ported MP9 and I freaking hated it. Comps aren’t for me except on my tricked out Ruger 22/45 steel gun which is embarrassing in the amount of aftermarket bling it has. To its credit though it runs faster than anything else I own. CMore, Volquartsen everything, goofy comp/thread protector. It’s ridiculous but it’s also hard to miss with.

Hard pass on this one though.

*sigh*

It’s stuff like this that makes it hard to take Sig seriously.

In all the time we spend online talking funds, has anyone seen anyone ask for something like this in the 365 line? I mean…we wish for weird stuff but I’ve never seen this requested.

Oh well, if they sell it and someone buys it, I guess they’ve achieved their goal.

Y’all have a good day

^^^ Hey, somewhere out there there's a conservatively dressed pimp in a late-model Buick looking for a gun that fits his image.

If I want a compensated 365, I'll get a barrel and comp setup from Grayguns or Parker Mountain Machine...and come out a few hundred dollars ahead of the $1100 they seem to want for this. Can even get my frame stippled by any number of outfits and still be under $1100.
