I carried a Hellcat a few weeks when it first arrived but returned to the P365 as it fit me, and I shot it better. Springfield got the optic cut option right though, Sig should offer it on a standard P365 as well.
Not me, I carried P230 or P239.

Anyone put a red dot on the XL, since it comes with the cut? I know SIG sells it with the Romeo 0. But that optic is a little bit too much plastic fantastic for my taste. Anyone go with the Holosun 4/507K? Aluminum body, glass optics, and can mount directly (no plate.)

I agree. I don't understand why so many people buy a P365 and then try and turn it into an XL. Just buy the XL from the beginning. It's understandable if you already have a P365 but if buying new.

Since it’s for concealed carry purposes, some people want it to be as small as possible. And if the extra grip of the 12 round mags works perfectly for your pinky, why go with an entirely larger frame? My P365 setup with 12 round mags and +2 Magguts holds 14 rounds with 1 in the chamber and is about the smallest concealed carry piece available. Why would I want to go with the larger P365XL frame if my hand fits perfectly and it is for concealed carry purposes?

Also, there is no “trying to turn the P365 into a P365XL.” The P365 came with the extended pinky 12 round mag from the factory the moment it was released. When Sig designed the P365, they were accounting for people with slightly larger hands by including the 10 round pinky extended mag and the 12 round pinky extended mag. They weren’t simply later add-ons like the super extended 15 round mag was.

Do you know that the 365 with the 12 round mag is the same height as the 365xl frame, also 12 rounds. Actually the same mag, EXACTLY, except for the flat plate rather than the extension to take up the space between the floor plate and the 365 frame. How I know.....I have both. I actually like the XL frame for the grip because it doesn't pinch in the seam that is present when I use the 365 with 12 round mags. I ended up getting an XL frame for my 365 in the end because that is better for my hands.

Yep and to act like the P365 is needed because it's so much more concealable than the XL is a bit disingenuous. Pull out a ruler and look how long .4 of an inch is on the overall slide length, give me a break. That's why I always say if you want a 12 round magazine with the P365 just get the XL from the get go. Totally different argument if you like the 10 round magazine, then the P365 makes perfect sense.

Can you pocket carry a P365XL like you can a P365?

I couldn't so that's why I went with the 365x (standard 365 slide on a 365XL grip module)

ETA to be clear: pocket carrying the 365XL was an issue with the length of the slide for me. It made the gun almost stick up out of my pocket so yes, that .4" can make a difference. The length of the grip was not an issue for pocket carry, for me.

The only downside to the P365XL is if you're a gun guy (like me), it's difficult to justify purchasing another carry gun. This thing is just too perfect!

Everything posted here is EXACTLY why SIG's modular design concept for the P365 (and the P320) is so Freakin' AWESOME! Everyone can configure it to their own individual requirements, and get's what they want and/or need. Cool

I fully agree [beer]!

I don't know why some people feel the need to tell others what they should do? Just because someone goes in a different direction then you, doesn't mean they are wrong. We are all individuals with different needs, wants and requirements. What's perfect for you could be completely unworkable for me.

We should just be happy we all have the options we currently do because that has not always been the case and may not always be the case.

So what IWB holsters are people using? I just purchased one with the Romeo 0, slightly complicates matters, but 2 people have recommended the Alien Gear ShapeShift 4.0 which they make to accommodate the optic; anyone use one of those?

I'm using a Vedders Holster Lighttuck. Very pleased with it, and they're very quick. https://www.vedderholsters.com/lighttuck/

+1 for the Lighttuck. That is what I use for the P365 and sizewise it is a perfect match. Vedder makes it in an optic version for the XL and that is what I will get if I go that route.

I have the same holster and really like it...my 4th Vedder. I also put a Holosun 507K on my XL and like that as well.

Also, with the standard 365 I have the flexibility to choose between and extended, longer grip and a shorter, concealable one.

We all have valid choices. One size does not fit all.

My standard P365 has completely replaced my J-frame for EDC. With the 10 round flush base magazine it is as easy, if not easier to carry in the pocket than the J-frame. Yes your pinky finger dangles when firing it, but it also does on a J-frame, neither has ever bothered me, and I have a large hand. When I wear my 365 any other way, it's carried with a twelve round mag.

Agreed. The P365 with the 10-round mag does not give me a good hold, but the 12-rounder is a great achievement... I love mine, but won't carry it with the shorter mag...
